I was brought up around cricket. My Dad and brother played and so I was there every week (when my mum and Dad argued as a kid it was always about how much he was at the club lol)...I used to score for the local 1st eleven and my mum used to help in the tea room. My brother still plays, his kids all play too and two of them play at county level for their age groups
My brother played for Lancs second team when he was younger.

I go with my Dad every year to watch the Manchester Originals....he's not a huge fan of the format but its a fun day out.

Last week ( I may have uploaded a photo) there were 3 unknown women discussing the upcoming race .. one was obviously the host, one was an ex race technician and one was an ex pro race driver ( NOT F1 ) who was black, gorgeous looking but admitted to knowing NOTHING about cars … she just drove them ….

And tbf I get what you're saying to a point about the box ticking in general (not just with women) but my biggest issue personally is a lack of personality in our current Sports stars and Pundits, and again it's not just the women or POC like I know that some people on the Internet might suggest (and I'm not meaning you btw, Zizu) because Plank from Ed, Edd n' Eddy every Saturday is proof that it's not just the Political “box tickers" that are lacking charisma because he is a white dude.

Really it’s more that when she does (comparatively rarely) offer a story from her own career or maybe voices an opinion on a current story it just doesn’t resinate at all

The guys rarely even comment ( positively or otherwise) because they can’t relate to the stories

Sometimes they are just boring as hell as she felt that she had to offer something to the conversation
