Thumbs down

We already have digital IDs to ensure migrants have the right to work here.

Any foreign employee needs to get a share code on their E-Visa account and
give it to the employer to check on a system.

If an employer doesn’t get a share code, they’re breaking the law.

We don’t need digital ID. What’s the real reason behind Starmer’s push for
digital ID?

The government is already unpopular and it chooses this moment to start talking about digital id. There is more to this than meets the eye. It's not about illegal immigration. It's about forcing the governments will on the people. No-one should be ok with this

Had to laugh at Starmer saying we will be issuing FREE id cards, like he was paying from his own pocket....its like they get together every week to discuss how they can make themselves even more unpopular, no money for services but the magic money tree will be given a shake for this

Another totally useless idea which will cost the taxpayer zillions .. the people it’s supposed to target will just end up paying the criminals for fake ID

People who employ illegals, pay them less than minimum wage, pay no NI for them, will continue to pay them out of the hat. ID cards won't make any difference to them.

No-one believes the government on it being to combat illegal immigration. To me, this is feeling like the poll tax under thatcher or the laws at the latter stages of covid

My thoughts exactly. Unsure how the government think this will reduce illegal workers.

Just one more example of the ineptitude of political ( whatever the party)

I think this political system has been flawed for over half a century ..

Wish someone would come up with an alternative to politicians running the country

What if they can control your bank and your money if they don't agree with what you say or think? Like Trudeau did in Canada during Covid protests.

What if a right-wing government gets in and takes on that power for them to use?

Ive just had a chat with someone who believes these digital IDs are just the stepping stone to a digital currency. The Gov will say the cards aren't working as illegal workers are still being paid cash in hand and so will move to make us cashless and then be able to control everyones money etc.....he thinks after that there will be carbon credits etc etc
He is a little bit of a conspiracy theorist....but I suppose its not a huge stretch to think it is the start of a slippery slope

Even the illegals know it wont work, there was a Pakastani Chef interviewed being paid 5.00 a hour in a takeaway, his boss is not going to suddenly start paying tax and NI and a pension .... Starmer is a very dangerous individual
