It also has unfortunate scriptwriters and directors
![]() Burnham was actually okay opposite Pike, they had a bit of a Kirk-and-Spock dynamic from TOS. But that only really lasted a couple of episodes, and even then it is was let down by the show as a whole. While there's no point thinking of tweaks to make it better because it would still have the same creatives ("creatives") they almost had something there - Pike should have been the focus, or at least as much as Kirk was. Like sure, he was the "main character", being the captain and having his Captain Logs as a sort of narration, but it was really a trio of Kirk, Spock and McCoy. Meh, I could go on for ages how TOS is better than STD.

Star Trek Prodigy is so good, for a 110% Voyager fan what i am
Kate Mulgrew still slays as Janeway (double voice role actually, Admiral Kathryn Janeway and Hologram Janeway) Spoiler: what's it about a group of alien kids stumble across the experimental USS Protostar Spoiler: Hologram Janeway mistakes the group for newly starfleet cadets at first, and begins training them

WHEW that was a fun one, great throwback to TOS too, also finally how we know what became of Ensign Garrovick from TOS episode ''Obsession'' Spoiler: ----------- ep Crossroads Spoiler: all in all, i am loving this so much, equally as JW: Camp Cretaceous, similarly well made animated take on ST universe, cool action scenes too also speaking of Camp Cretaceous, we have one voice actress from there too in this one, Jameela Jamil as voice of ''Ensign Asencia'' and former star trek voyager alumni and seinfeld star Jason Alexander as Dauntless's doctor Noum, he was in the voyager episode Think Tank

based on Prodigy's popularity, and with also the opportunity being there, of a live action Voyager reunion
could Star Trek: Janeway be the next thing to go for? post-Picard ![]() the fandom also surely wants to know about Tom & B'Elanna's daughter Miral and tbh the live action series could pick up where Prodigy kinda ended with the group of Dal, Gwyndala, Rrok, Murf, Jankom travelling alongside hologram janeway but the real admiral janeway, captain chakotay, the emh on earth my idea i posted in creative writing https://www.thisisbigbrother.com/for...d.php?t=390954 wouldn't be a too bad concept i think, considering the Voyager OG's are like experts of the delta quadrant in case certain villains want to salvage the now derelict borg base (post-Endgame, and Picard S3) and we know Kate Mulgrew is open for returning to live action as Janeway either |

![]() Last Friday, TrekMovie exclusively broke the news that Star Trek: Enterprise star Scott Bakula had teamed up with Voyager and Enterprise writer/producer Mike Sussman on a pitch to return to the franchise in a new series centering around Federation president Jonathan Archer. They envision the show as a “political thriller and a family drama set in those chaotic, formative years of the Federation,” and they even have a name for it: Star Trek: United. The idea was floated to Paramount a couple of years ago, but with the pullback in streaming and focus on developing Starfleet Academy, they passed on the idea. However, Bakula and Sussman have continued to refine the concept and hope the new Skydance regime at Paramount will be open to consider this show as part of their plans to expand Paramount+. Over the weekend at STLV: Trek to Vegas, Scott Bakula made his first convention appearance since 2016. The subject of Star Trek: United came up, and he offered up some brief thoughts. Mike Sussman also appeared on a panel over the weekend and revealed more details on the vision for the potential series. Bakula holding out hope for United During his panel appearance on Sunday afternoon, Bakula kept the packed convention auditorium entertained with funny stories from his time in the franchise, other genre shows, and more. He even took time out to record a message to a fan’s mother whose cancer kept her from attending. But at one point, the actor took a fan question about where he would have liked to go with Archer had Enterprise not been cancelled in its fourth season, and also if he could talk about the United pitch. He started talking about how Enterprise wrapped up: “Because we were being canceled—and there was a good chance we would have been canceled after three [seasons] if [Paramount Television president] Garry Hart hadn’t kind of gone to the mat for us—so we got an extra season 4 to kind of complete the whole Xindi thing, which thank goodness we did, because I thought that was pretty amazing television. I loved that, and it really was great writing. And, man, we had some good, good actors come on all the time on that show. I didn’t recognize half of them [due to alien makeup]… So, we crushed the ending of the show to wrap things up, but I think the goal was for that to happen more slowly, and for Archer to kind of start forming the bones of the Federation. And I think that would have been really, really exciting to do. So I’m sorry we didn’t get to really kind of lean into that.” The former Enterprise lead then pivoted to carefully talk a little bit about United: “There’s nothing I am going to say about United, at this point. There’s a great writer [Mike Sussman] and I have had conversations about the possibility… I’m just going to say—and we will close on that—you never know.” As we reported earlier, the Star Trek: United concept would see Bakula as President Archer helping shape the early Federation, as he wished he’d the chance to do had Enterprise continued. There was a also funny moment when the fan who asked about United jumped in to say she was ready to offer up $5 for the project, and Bakula quickly jumped back to joke “I’ll take it! Crowdfunding… now wait a minute!” The actor wrapped up his appearance on stage by promising to return for STLV in 2026 to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Star Trek: Enterprise. Sussman wants to explore big issues with United Michael Sussman was a guest on TrekMovie’s “Does canon matter?” panel on Saturday, and the subject of United came up. Within the context of the panel’s subject, the writer and producer was asked how much he feels a show like United needs to rely on the nostalgia and populating the show with canon characters (beyond Archer). Sussman said: “When you’re establishing a new show, I think it’s important that it stand on its own two feet. If you lean too heavily, too soon, on bringing back characters from other shows or films, you risk slipping into pure ‘memberberries.’ With United, the ideas Scott and I discussed center on a lot of new characters—but of course there are plenty of opportunities for some familiar faces to appear, maybe even in recurring or semi-regular roles.” When asked if Archer’s ally (and fan favorite character) the Andorian Shran (Jeffrery Combs) could make that cut, Sussman noted how a canon character could be used organically within the show, suggesting “Chief of Staff of Starfleet, maybe?” But again, Sussman leaned into the idea that the show would take advantage of an era that has not been seen in Trek lore: “[Nostalgic references] are a bit like seasoning—you have to use them sparingly, especially if you’re trying to bring in new viewers. You might see some familiar faces, familiar species, familiar ships, but what excites me about this era is how wide open it is. There’s roughly a century between Enterprise and Discovery, and we know almost nothing about it.” He also gave a bit more insight into some of the topics Star Trek: United would explore in the latter 22nd century: “On Enterprise, we didn’t really have time to explore the formation of the Federation. The focus was on defense and saving the planet—which, of course, was vital for the story we were telling. But I believe we were going to lay the groundwork for a government and a state that would champion sentient rights, the rights of all species, really—and stand firmly for justice and equality across the galaxy. And that would ultimately lead to the establishment of the Prime Directive. We never really got to dig into all of that on Enterprise as much as I would’ve liked, and I think we definitely would have if the series had continued beyond season 4. There’s still so much to explore in that era.” Wrapping up the topic of United, he again compared his vision for the show to the recent critically acclaimed Star Wars series Andor and how it was “more grounded,” avoiding overt fan service while remaining “true to the Star Wars mythos.” He feels there is room in Star Trek for an “adult” show like that. For now, Star Trek: United is just a concept, and not in active development at Paramount. However, Sussman and Bakula hope the Paramount leadership team headed up by CEO David Ellison may give it consideration as they fulfill the commitment to increase investment in Paramount+. TrekMovie will keep an eye on this project and hopefully find out more about the concept. https://trekmovie.com/2025/08/12/sco...oposed-series/
