To be perfectly honest, it doesn't matter where someone comes from, just where they are headed. I know Science is impressed by the hip hop culture that dominates nowadays but Leeds is not Compton is it? There are rough areas everywhere nowadays anyway. I think deep down Science is a very sensitive individual and the tough rapper from the hood is just a cover. He obviously wants a better life, that's why he went on Big Brother and this is admirable. More young black lads should follow his lead and strive for the respect and recognition they want, you just have to earn it.

Science is from an area in Leeds called Chapletown. It's only a small area but the majority of people who live there are black or Asian. To understand what he means by 'The Hood' or to give an example of a place like Chapletown which is well known and compare, I would have to say 'Brixton' in London and 'The Bronx' in New York. Albeit, these two area's are much more notorious for drugs and crime etc. Although I think Hackney has taken over from Brixton in that respect.

Anyway, Chapletown used to be like that. It was rife with people selling drugs (young kids). People buying drugs. There were shootings and violence every time Carnival Season came about. It still is bad but not as bad as it used to be. People in the Community have tried to change this for the better and it is working. It is no longer a no go area for Taxi's as it used to be and you don't feel as vunerable as you used to be walking by yourself at night.

Before you had a high percentage of muggings. However, there are now alot of CCTV camera's in his area which has seen the percentage of muggings go down. So it is not as bad as it used to be. There is a certain level of crime that is still there in the background. There is always a strong Police presence and guaranteed every so often you see some kid running through somebody's garden with a Policeman hot on his trail!

So, Science isn't a liar. He is from this area. He is not bang smack in the middle of it. He lives in a nice house his family is nice etc, but he is from this area.

I went to a school that was in a rough area, and people who weren't from the local council-estate tended to get beaten up...

ye i agree that is what chapletown is like but science does not live there anymore he now lives in harehills and when he was saying about where he lived on big brother he wasnt lieing he was saying how it used to be it has changed alot recently so maybe if he was saying it was like that now then he would be lieing but since though he was saying about when he used to live there he is not lieing but i get where people are coming from as they proberly did not know what chapletown used to be like

He does not live in London, he still lives with his parents and siblings in Chapletown.
