Saying he acts like that due to his culture is sterotyping, its like saying all english people would act like Marcus tonight because thats the culture they was raised in - and this was clearly proven wrong tonight when Lisa didnt take part.
Lisa she said she'd get her tits out for a fag, there isn't much we can say about her. the only reason she didn't go on the roof is because she was afraid of punishment. so your reasoning fails i'm afraid.
Your missing the point.

The point i mean is everyone who was born in and raised in the british culture wouldnt have acted the way marcus did tonight, the same way that everyone born and raised in the Brazilian/Latino culture wouldnt have acted the way Rodrigo did tonight - its down to how your people raised you, not the culture you are from.
so you're denying the culture you're from has no effect on you at all?
When did i deny it? Of course it does, but what has a bigger effect on a person is the way your people raise you, and then when your older, personal choice.
i agree.

i'm not talking about Rodrigo's other moaning like when he gives it but can't take it. i'm specifically talking about this furniture thing. that is to do with culture. of course his parents brough him up like it, coz it's the culture in Brazil to respect your possessions.

You either have it or you don't, you can't buy it. To some extent, you can develop and improve upon the qualities that you have.

Nothing to do with speaking perfect English or knowing all the intricate details of a culture.

Most people know relatively jack all about their own culture anyway tbh!

I made this exactly same post last week and people who don't like him really don't want to understand this.

Possibly.

Doesn't mean I'd enjoy tiptoeing on eggshells around him.

well i'm in scotland and been taught to respect my possessions. you can't just call it a cultural thing. having respect for your possesions is something that you are brought up with.

and how can you say it's british culture to disrespect possessions??

i didn't actually say that, but it does seem to be true. every week in my local paper there's an article about a teen that has destroyed or vandalised something.

i really think it's silly to assume that it's a difference in culture. i have brasilian friends and they don't differ dramatically to us at all. he's just boring, that's all- his hissy fits are boring and that's the only time he's involved in the show

I've been to Brazil and I can assure you that Rodrigo is in no way representative of any Brazilians I came across (apart from the fiery temper).

He is more like an old grandmothers wrinkly cardigan, left lying by the knitting.
