George Michael is reportedly in talks to appear on The X Factor.

The News of the World claims that Michael is lined up to appear on the show's final in December.

"This is a cloak-and-dagger operation," a source said. "Everything surrounding George's appearance is shrouded in secrecy.

"We're all very excited because nobody saw it coming. It's a real coup. And this will be a huge way for him to return to the music scene."

Beyoncé, Pink and Shakira will also reportedly perform on the show, while producers are allegedly in talks with Madonna about an appearance.

The X Factor continues tonight at 8pm on ITV1.

You know they are singing the MJ song on the 15th. I can see them bribing her to make apperence and to coach the contestants and even singing a song! Her first UK TV apperence since.. A very long time ago! I hope she can come on the show that would be great!
