I am not religious and can't stand children being brainwashed with it.........However from what I understand all she wanted to do was say a prayer........That in its self I would say is not forcing a belief on one just expressing ones own belief.......

The parents I think have well and truly overeacted.......She ment no harm quite the opposite........A little bit of common sense would have been more appropriate from all sides........

Arista, sometimes I think you really need to open up your mind a little bit. Just because you believe there is no God, does not mean others are not allowed to believe there is. You say "Fake God" as if it is fact, and it just makes you seem quite ignorant to other peoples beliefs. I'm not a big Christian.. I don't go to Church every Sunday or pray every night.. but I do follow the faith of Christianity and believe there is a God, so I think of myself as a Chirstian, and find your comments quite offensive sometimes. You really need to open your mind to different faiths of the world.

There should be some laws brought in to stop this religious forcing behaviour so when people like her are sacked there is nothing to cry victim about.

I'm not religious - but the woman was not forcing anything. She was just doing what she genuinely believed would help! Her intentions are what count!

Here's what the families mother had to say:

"Mrs Jones was employed to teach maths but used every opportunity to discuss religion, despite the fact I made it clear we were a non-religious family and didn’t want to talk about these issues in this way. The family made it clear that they were not religious and requested that she didn't discuss religion. Obviously, the Christian woman didn't respect the families request; so continued to push her views. Also, her employer had previously asked her not to proselytise - but she continued to do so regardless. She wasn't respecting her employer's wishes also.

At the end of the day, this woman was employed to teach math. She wasn't employed to push her religious agenda - including her self-serving behaviour - on vulnerable children. I'm glad she was fired.

Where did you get that information from ? Need a reliable source!

If true, it does put another slant on the situation. If the teacher repeatedly did it, after being asked not to, then that was out of order and she would of brought it on herself.
