TBF they deserved to win, bringing back big character like tracey, kieran and nick will allow them to sweep up at this years soap awards and next years NTA's.

They have had no intresting storylines in ages, Eastenders will be full of massive storys this year just look at this storyline for example.

Eastenders will win almost every award in the BSA including Best Soap.

Molly is pregnant with either Tyrone or Kevins Baby
Gail is going to be sent to prison for the murder of Joe
Tracey and Gail are going to meet in prison
Blanche is due to have an on screen funeral
Peter is still dealing with his alocholism
Nick is going to become a shareholder in Underworld
Becky and steve consider adopting a child after doctors discover that she has an abnormally shaped womb and wont be able to carry a child
Theres due to be a lesbian storyline between Sophie and Sian
Maria is going to return and sparks will fly when she finds out that carla knew all along
Gary has joined the Army
Tony is also due to return in May

Along with loads others, Eastenders is playing on one storyline which is becming very tedious

I quite like eastenders, Its just i prefer Corrie.

and im pretty sure people do care about corrie as it on average gets higher ratings than all other soaps.

Eastenders gets higher ratings than Corrie on some nights too, so dont try and say it gets higher all the time because tbh it is boring now and alot of people I know that use to watch it, have turned to Hollyoaks and Eastenders as they are fresh.

Even Chewy on here is a perfect example of a Corrie fan who has realised how boring and stale it is now.

The Storylines are being recylced.

Just look at the Magazines on soaps if you walked into a shop, Eastenders ALWAYS has most the front page to itself.
If you read Inside Soap, the front page is always Eastenders with massive pictures and about 1 or 2 small pics of Corrie, so it proves Eastenders Storylines get the viewers far more intrested than what the old Corrie ones do.

Yeah, There has been alot of polls and stuff around the net lately..
I just stumbled across them.

And they have basically said:

'Whats your favourite Soap?'

The results have either been..

2. Corrie
3. Hollyoaks
4. Emmerdale

then there was another one I saw about a week ago that had..

Eastenders gets higher ratings when something big happens, but on average corrie gets higher ratings. Hollyoaks is an incredibly unrealistic soap, hence the poor ratings. Eastenders isnt new or fresh either.
Chewy hasnt stopped watching becuase its "stale" or "boring" its because he has too much stuff on his plate to carry on watching the soap.

I dont read any soap magazines but id imagine that eastenders have to have it on the front covers to get ratings, otherwise people wouldnt tune in. Corrie fans are loyal and would tune in whatever happens.
