This is the inside of the top, indicating that it uses a kind of metal spring

After a week's intensive trial at work I can report that the teabagbin has been an unmitigated success

Despite a few unenthusiastic comments at the beginning of the week by Friday the unbelievers were starting to be won over. The comments that have been made about not having to wipe up the tea drips off the work surfaces and floor have been many.

The bin has been emptied several times and thanks to someone's ingenious idea of using a plastic bin line (cant think who that was) the bin and the surrounding areas have stayed clean and dry.

In fact it was so popular I even told several people where to buy one. That was my downfall because

NOW I'VE BEEN RUMBLED

When I got into work this morning there was a big sign on the kitchen wall with a print out of the home page off the site. Underneath was written.

OUR BIG BROTHER FAN STRIKES AGAIN

Did you wonder about the arrival of the teabagbin - well wonder no more. It was bought by our mad PA because it is marketed by 2 of the ex Big Brother 2 housemates.

No not the two she goes on and on and on and on about (we'd have had 12 if it had been them) but some others.

What will she buy next.

I have been the butt of jokes all day, but I am strong, I can take it - wait til they find out Helen is on Banzai and I'm gonna tape it.

There was an interview with Stuart on Dean on this morning's Classic Gold from the Ideal Homes Exhibition.

Nothing too exciting, just general chat with Dean saying the worst thing about the house was going in and the best coming out.

He also said it had been a fantastic experience and was worth it for all the friends he made. But they both said they were not prepared for all the press coverage when they came out. They had no idea so many people had been watching.

Stuart also said that his winking started after he saw a cameraman fall over through one of the mirrors and winked at him which was picked up by the psychologists.

They went on to say how Dean thought up the idea of the bin and how it worked and how to get it.

Nothing too spectacular but nice to hear their voices once again.

Great news!!

My OH suggested last night that we get one of those "teabag bin things" he'd seen briefly on Celeb BB as he thought it was a good idea. Obviously I agreed and have since ordered said item.

He has NO IDEA!!!!!!

Bless

I actually saw them on sale in February in Robert Dyas in Guildford @ £4.99.

It did say "As seen on Big Brother" so I assume it was the original and not a clone.

I didn't get one myself because I use a tea pot.

Oops
Just notice on the official web site that they are available in Robert Dyas so it certainly is the real McCoy.

Congrats Stuart and Dean - great site

It wouldn't have been as much fun otherwise!

OH loves his teabag bin and even showed me his first full bag when he emptied it the other day

I've not got one though ....
