Default Hung Parliment

It's widely believed that we will end up in a hung parliment after the general election

Is this a good or a bad thing? Will it give the current parties the shake up they need? Or will it result in sending the country's parliment into chaos? (Though I believe they are prepared for such a situation)

Read here to find out what a hung parliment is

I think it could go two ways. It could damp the fires of the petty squabbling between parties and make them cooperate on policy-making, or it could make rivalries and alliances and other whip/stirring/bribes/other corruption more rife.

I'm more inclined to believe in the latter.

Normally City does not react well if it is a hung Parliament.
It will be good for Liberal.

We have to reduce this huge debts some how.
Which one of them would take over the Government, people will have a harder lives than now.

It is unbelievable the nation is still voting Labour after such a mess they have created.

First off, it depends how many seats short of an overall majority any particualr party is, if they are only a few short it will be the same old same old, the government will by turn either bribe, promise or blackmail the number of supporters needed from other parties or independants, if its not so close, the lib dem will hold the balance of power, whoever promises the most and gains them to their side will take the election.

However and here is where governments have fallen in the past they have to keep those other party members sweet for the life of the parliament, not too easy when it means that the Lib Dems will want proportional representation etc again brought to the fore.

Its a cyclic thing swings to the left swings to the right, then a hung parliament, it happens, the problem is that people forget the lessons from the past. e.g. thatcher was voted in with a huge majority following swings to both left and right and hung parliaments, because of the national debt and union problems that Labour had created, Tony Blair was voted in on a landslide because the Tories had lost the edge with sleaze run out of policies that appealed to voters, etc,

Look at labour now, sleazey, run out of policies etc. bankrupting the country again. If the tories do get in it had better come in with decent policies that benefit the country, otherwise it will be out before its ran its full term. If its a hung parliament nothing really will occur it will be a political stasis till the next leader with a clear and popular vision for the country steps up to the mark.

I think Tory is not agresive enough to attack Labour.

Can you believe that the last Major years of sleaze scandals, Labour attacked Tory like the end of Tory.
Then nearer to the end of his term, already the economy was steady but still Labour had a huge lead in poll. (may be the nation felt like time for a change)

How about now, Labour does ten times horrible scandals and economy is in such in a mess, but still we are talking about Hung Parliament.

Still nation think Tory is for rich.
Tory is not attacking Labour hard enough, too gentle.
Tory does not have talented MPs enough to be considered as future leader.
More Cameron speaks smooth, he would reminds me of Blair. I feel like he may ends up like Blair, only his mouth.

Next Government has to deal with huge debts problem and of course they will not be popular and we will definitely have a hard life than now many people might not realise that!

I think even if Tory wins with majority, the labour will blame anything and everything Tory does.

A hung parliament would at least more more democratic.......They would all have to take others ideas into consideration for there to be any hope of solid policies emerging......At a time when the economy is hanging by a thread though it could be a rather dangerous outcome.......

The most dangerous outcome for either Labour or Tory is if one were to win an over all majority with as little as say 6 seats........

They would have to govern.........They would have to dish up what they are hiding with regard to cost cutting and so on.......As such their true colours would emerge........Another election sooner rather than later would be inevitable and the public would hav a tast of the winning party that would make it fly to the oposition with a land slide win.........

Labour supporters better hope the tories win with a tiny majority so we can all see what liars and draconian right wingers they really are........Then that will be the end of the Tories come a replacement early election........

Love it, yeah like the radical right wing of the tory party will suddenly come out of hiding. PMSL

At the present moment with the slightly right of centre Labour Party, the only thing that is likely to come out of hiding, is the ultra left wing, unions calling workers out on strike, not at times when negotations could be undertaken so no one was at risk of being diadvantaged, but rather when the strike would have the maximum impact, public holidays etc, like airline staff striking at peak travelling times you know Christmas, easter the summer holidays,.

Oh look its happening just now, almost prophetic eh?
