I think it could go two ways. It could damp the fires of the petty squabbling between parties and make them cooperate on policy-making, or it could make rivalries and alliances and other whip/stirring/bribes/other corruption more rife.
I'm more inclined to believe in the latter. *flicks Vs at Eoin for making a political statement*
