Default Sam liked Caiomhe, now it all makes sense
I have been sitting here for days trying to work out, what is the deal between Sam and Josie and why he is so much fixated on her.
On BBLB Sam's mates said that he liked/had thing for Caiomhe.
Now it all makes sense at least for me.

But his Josie thing goes back to the audition stages so I doubt its much to do with that really.

I think Sam likes Josie, nothing more than 'likes' but no dastardly keeva vengeance plot.

I also think he can see through the bromance, and for someone with his naturally piss-taking sense of humour, he cant resist putting john james on the spot, and since josie knows that john james is her meal ticket, shes scared

why is he not attacking John James because he was a friend of Caoimhe in the house thats why and Dave is being attacked because he wasnt
