I think the reaction is pretty much unanimous evicting four people is a bad idea. So here is a way to evict four people on Friday night, but give the big characters more of a chance.
Firstly, from this vote we evict two people. Of course a risk two bigger characters will go, but that's acceptable with a double eviction and gives the likes of John James and even Sam Pepper some chance of surviving it. The first eviction and interview would be done in the 9pm show, with the second evictee revealed at the end. The voting then switches and lines open for viewers to vote for the winner. Josie's line would also be open but there would be a disclaimer that as she is guaranteed a place in the final, if she is in the bottom two she won't be evicted and the HM third from bottom would be. A vote count would be taken at the beginning of the 10.30pm show (or even earlier if the time delay requires it) and after the interview for the second evictee, the two people with the least votes to win would then be evicted and interviewed. Not ideal, but that lets the producers kick four people out but ensures it isn't the four people we don't care enough to evict that join Josie in the final.

That would only save the likes of Dave and Corin. John and Sam would still go in the Vote to Evict - which is who we need to save.

Chances are one or both may go, but that's an acceptable risk IMO. They'd both have a fighting chance of surviving it too if it's just a double, but have zero chance on a vote to kick four out.

It's not worth the risk if you ask me. They're the only people worth watching, bar Corin.

A few people, myself included, were hoping for a triple eviction, so I'm looking forward to this but my only concern is how it's going to flow. Is the highlights show going to be rushed? Are the interviews going to be rushed?
The quadruple eviction isn't a bad idea as such, I just don't think it's been as well thought out. We knew it was only 11 weeks this year but the producers put in as many people as the last few years so there was bound to be a lot to chop down in the final weeks

Numbers wise Sam Pepper should never have gone in, and despite what he has added to the show in the last couple of weeks I don't think he was needed entertainment wise too as things would have gone in a different direction without him. The Mario situation was brewing nicely before he arrived, whilst Peppers presence in the house seems to have sent Andrew back into his shell. All Pepper has done is diverted underlying hatred for each others into hatred for Sam Pepper.

In a way Sam was a necessary add because he's been one of the most entertaining newbies in the show's history. Because he didn't enter as a group (like BB6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 have ALL had) he's had a chance to shine as an individual HM and bought something to the final weeks like Kinga did. The Mario attention-seeking is still fairly evident but don't think it would have escalated to anything major, and Andrew's still had the odd bit of airtime with the eye spy task and the Watermelon confession.

It's been the same problem since BB7 though, and the inevitability of walkers or ejectees doesn't help too. Apart from Pepper though it hasn't been the people coming in that's been the main problem - the first batch were inevitable, the second were effectively replacements for all the walkers. It's been the evictions - or lack of - which is the problem, and also once again not allowing a series to reach some kind of closure by letting the numbers dwindle. With 9 remaining there should have been at least 4 more rounds of nominations, especially as once Pepper was gone who was nominating who would have been very tough - and that's where a house where they all do generally get along becomes interesting.
At worst slotting in an extra eviction night before the "final" would help. Two doubles rather than one quadruple would be better for the show.

Even CBB tired relying on more HMs towards the end despite longer runs. CBB3 had an eviction every few days but come CBB5 it was being treated as a normal BB with only 1 eviction per week. If BB11 was actually the full 13 weeks and Sam was evicted or merged in to the group then it would definately have been interesting to have another 4 sets of nominations and see if more arguments occured but it didn't happen in BB4 when everyone got along and still had to nominate

I've always been of the view that you need just 16 HMs for a 13 weeks series - 12 evictions and 4 finalists, with any walkers/ejectees replaced as necessary.
The idea that you need more people towards the end to keep it interesting is rubbish - BB3 had 7m watching nightly in it's final week with just four people, and what made the final weeks of BB1-3 interesting was that HMs who didn't get on were forced to live as a small group for the last couple of weeks in the house. In more recent series with 6-7 usually in the final week HMs have still been able to split themselves into two groups - which just isn't that interesting to watch.
