They've had a #2 and a #3 album, 7 top #20 singles and 8 more top #40. They've also won a Kerrang! award, an NME award and a BBC Teen Radio award and have 16 million listens on last.fm - putting them higher than Marvin Gaye, Phil Collins and Iggy Pop amongst others.

But I imagine all that's irrelevant when you're...erm...watching the X Factor for all of your musical knowledge.

It's irrelevant because I do not listen to music 24/7 and my tastes are pretty varied,I doubt you have heard of some of the music i like,you know nothing about my knowledge of music,so don't presume you do.

It is relevant when you claim that "they can't be that special" and that "lots of people have never heard of him/them" because their huge success is contradictory to your claim seeing how widely they are commended and celebrated. You are the one making presumptions stating that they cant be that special just because you have never heard of them

Some people HAVE never heard of them,I don't care if they have been number One for a year,they are not special to me or other people I know,what am I doing having to answer to you anyway?so they are nothing to me and i have listened to the song,it's not the most wonderful song on earth is it?If Matt kills it it might sound better:-)and now i have heard of them because of Matt I might will buy his version if it is good and he wins

Yes, some people havent but that doesnt mean "they cant be that special", they have had a lot of success therefore the overwhelming consensus is that they are a very good band, and your comment came across as pretty ignorant if I'm honest.
