Because Cher might be on last, the lines are already open and it won't make a difference.. Matt was on first so if anyone has an advantage right now in the voting it's him!.

They pick up on the slightest thing and claim its a fix or some conspiracy behind it

Not really! HE MAY HAVE BEEN ON FIRST BUT EVERYONE ALREADY KNOWS WHO THEY ARE VOTING FOR AND CAN VOTE STRAIGHT AWAY SO DONT GET YOUR POINT..

opening the lines first means it doesnt matter when you perform. People pretty much know who they are voting for, and as each one performs theres probably a little boost in their votes.
