Default Overrated?

I'm a longtime fan of BB US and began watching BB UK this summer. So far I've seen 2004 and 2005 and loved both of them, especially 2005. I've heard great things about 2006 and most everyone I've talked to say it's the best season. I've just started watching it and I'm on Day 14. I really haven't found it entertaining at all, though. The cast is boring/unlikeable, the tasks are awful, and there's already been three quitters. The only thing keeping me watching is Pete and Nikki. Does it just have an awful beginning?

The beginning is the best part. If you don't like it now I would run for the nearest exit.

What Stu said. It runs out of steam towards the end (hence the attempt at reviving it with the second house + return of Nikki).

I guess I'll just get through watching it and hope 2007 is better. I'm just looking forward to more of Nikki's tantrums at this point :P

BB7 is unbelievable overrated
BB10 is the next best after BB5 and BB6.

I agree BB7 is a bit overrated and I definitely agree BB10 is underrated and is one of the best series, but BB7 still was fantastic IMO. The characters weren't that good individually (except for Nikki, Grace, Pete, Aisleyne, etc), but the group itself somehow was very strong. They mixed and vibed well together. And it had alot of great and memorable moments.

I think why everyone says BB7 is the best is because they just associate it with Nikki since many people agree she is one of the best (if not the best) housemate ever. The series would have been absolutely nothing without her.

I would still say it's better than BB10 (because of Nikki), but BB10 is right behind it.

If you wanna talk about overrated, look at BB9.

I think the reason why people think BB7 is the best is because it was their first series. Ask anybody who has watched the show since the beginning and they will tell you that BB5 is the best closely followed by BB6.
You really need to watch BB6, it was amazing <3

I love that series but there's only a few actual good housemates, Nikki, Grace, Shahbaz and Aisleyne..

Lisa too

Big Brother 2006 was brilliant in some parts but it IS NOT the best series.

It's VERY over rated.

I could think of two series right now, 10 times better than BB7 actually.
Big Brother 9 and Big Brother 5.

You must watch these two if you want to see what a real amazing series looks like.

BB3, BB5, BB6 and BB7 were the best of BBUK IMO. My favourite always changes.

Hated BB9 at the time but was a lot better when I rewatched some parts in the summer.

BB9 was an awful series imo. Literally the only housemate I liked was Rachel, and she was considered boring by many. Says a lot about the quality of the housemates that year.

Most people will say that the first weeks of BB7 were the best of BB history. I would agree to some point.

You may not have liked them, but Sezer and Grace brought an energy and an electricity which disappered as soon as the producers engineered their evictions.

From that point onwards, the series went downhill fast.

It was my favourite ever and the last real series that had a true summer feel, IMO. It was also the last ever series that was in the mainstream UK press constantly and in a sense the last 'acceptable', 'big time' Big Brother. Series 8 onwards was when everyone but the fans really just wanted it off the telly. It's difficult to put into words but you get the drift. It was the last water cooler BB [with the exception of the next CBB but for all the wrong reasons].

I loved the twist heavy aspect, I loved Richard, I loved the shitty, dusty grass .. everything. Twas a hallmark BB viewing summer for me.

And the first two weeks were just ... riddiculous.

I could give you a list of literally 100 things, right now if you want me to of entertaining things that happened in BB9.

This entire site together would struggle to give you 30 things that happened in BB8.

i enjoyed BB9. Pretty much the only housemates i didn't enjoy were Kat(cookie love) and the aussie chick. I thought they were really fake, and seemed really aware of the camera's the whole time. I thought the rest were deliciously dysfunctional though.

Lots of things happened in BB8.
It's not considered one of the worst series because nothing happened, whether you loved it or hated it, it wasn't boring.

But whilst BB9 is a lot better in retrospect, it's far from BB at it's best. Although it had the potential with housemates like Rex, Sara and Lisa.

BB7 was a bit overated but still a good series. I would say watch bb9. People dismiss bb9 because they were not keen on the winner. However it had many great characters.

BB10 had an epic first week!
