Question Would PayPal and eBay Stop You From With Drawing Cash From Your Not 18?

Go onto eBay and realise the legal age to sell things is 18 however alot of Teenagers younger than that age do get away with it.

If one had a Bank Account and a PayPal account ready to be linked with together, would it matter what age he was?

Because let's say the bank have you down for an age below Eighteen and your eBay account says you're 18.

When you try and sell something on eBay and your money is sent to your PayPal account would there be a major problem due to you lieing about your age on eBay?

As most people should know, eBay is linked with PayPal so would they find out that your bank account shows your under 18?

It's just I heard the results of this would mean you won't be able to take any money out of your PayPal account until your 18th Birthday which to be honest, is kind of unfair considering you can take Money out of the Hole In The Wall and Banks if you're Under 18.

I hope I've made this clear?

eBay Think Your 18

Bank Account Proves You're Not

You Link Your PayPal and Bank Account Together

Sell Something on eBay

Cash is sent straight to your PayPal Account

Will eBay Know You're Underaged and Stop You Taking Money Out?

The reason I'm asking this on here by the way is because Yahoo Answers is dead right now and I need help.
Plus TiBB is usually good at giving help and the majority of you are adults who I assume have a Bank Account and hopefully have used eBay and PayPal before.

When you join PayPal,you have to 'tick' a box declaring that you are over 18.
If they found out oterwise they will terminate your account and any money in it will be lost.
Don't mess with PayPal mate. All they want is your money and they will get it any way they can.

Its unlikely ebay will stop a processed payment, they can stop a payment but only until any problems involved in the transaction are sorted, so even if you are under 18 and they find out, you will eventually get your money. They do random checks verify ages etc but you are unlikely to get caught in one.

There is the possibility they find out if you or someone you are involved in a transaction with complain through the official system. If that happens they will accuse you of internet fraud( making an account you arent entitled to) and ban you for life. Anyone can easily get round that.

In a lot of cases its only when they go to resolution in the event of disputes or there are iffy adverts ebay come down hard.

Why not after this transaction processes or sometime in the future ask your mum to underwrite your account, in other words she will be held liable for your transactions however you will still be able to buy and sell stuff through ebay.

I used to sell a lot on Ebay but since they removed the right of sellers to leave negative feedback for scam buyers, and since Paypal are only too ready to reimburse scam buyers who receive goods and then claim they haven't, I no longer bother. Don't like that they insist you give paypal as a payment method either. Also the fees are disgustingly high, and you pay them twice, firstly to Ebay and then again to Paypal. I only buy from Ebay now and only if I can collect.

I sell on Gumtree, Priceminister, Playtrade, Billy Bargain, Loot and F.O.L.K. now - would never use Ebay for selling again.

Stu have you ever purchased anything from that site?

It looks quite cool, The Big Brother DVDs and that, is it dodgy or is it quite safe?

I've never sold on eBay but I've been using it for years to buy stuff and my PayPal account is linked to my eBay account. Never been questioned or anything.

I'm 17 BTW.
