Default New : USA Soldiers Posed over dead Afghans

http://news.sky.com/skynews/Home/US-...=searchresults

http://www.cbc.ca/news/world/story/2...tos-probe.html
Video report on here

"The U.S. Army has apologized for graphic photos showing U.S. troops posing over dead Afghan civilians that were published this week by German news organization Der Spiegel.
One of the three photos, which the army was keeping under wraps for a war crimes probe, shows a soldier smiling as he posed with a bloodied and partially clothed body.
The photos were among several seized by Army investigators looking into the deaths of three unarmed Afghans last year. Five soldiers based at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, south of Seattle, have been charged with murder and conspiracy in the case."

This was shown on SkyNews
Yank Troops standing over a dead boy as well
these shocking photos
are in a German Mag.

Only 2 US TV News have spoken of it,
which is so typical.

It doesnt just happen with the Yanks, break down someones personality and then build them up into a combat soldier. Tell them they are the best combat machine in the world etc.

Then send them off to a foreign land and let them be moving targets for an enemy that doesnt follow normal combat rules, they will get fustrated. Most werent particularly high achievers anyway.

Stuff like this completely sh*ts on the 'hero' image they're all portrayed as, when the fact is most people are in the army not to fight for their country and to save lives, but because they don't have the qualifications to do anything else.

I know that the British Army isn't always blameless... but the Brits at least understand more the Hearts & Minds approach. I find these pictures shameful... but then, I found them shameful last time this happened.

I have to take issue with that, Tom. The Army - at least the British Army - doesn't want unqualified people. You can't just rock up and sign on anymore. The Army is small, there are lots of applicants - they can pick and choose.

Going by what I've seen when doing RAF training, the minimum qualifications can't be that great to work on the front line.
