Dermot O'Leary is back as the host, guiding viewers through the best and worst auditions from around the UK.

New challenges will face the acts if they make it through the auditions, Boot Camp and Judges' Houses stages of the competition. Producers have introduced new twists to increase the pressure on the contestants.

An X Factor source told Digital Spy: "The show is back and bigger than ever. Everybody working on the series is excited about being part of the most talked-about programme on TV all over again.

"Gary Barlow has been a brilliant addition to the judging panel, he's really dry and funny. Kelly Rowland will surprise people, Tulisa is definitely going to be a hit and Louis Walsh is re-energised and has a great new dynamic with all three of his new co-stars."

Hosts Olly Murs and Caroline Flack have replaced presenter Konnie Huq on ITV2's The Xtra Factor, which launches on the same night at 9.15pm.

Prefer X Factor to Big Brother, looking forward to it but I don't really like how they show mainly crap people at auditions.

Once it gets to boot camp is when things get good
