Default Big Brother UK Renewed to 2019?

Just been on Twitter there having a look about, and stumbled across news that Channel 5 and Endemol have renewed Big Brother to 2019?

8 More years of Big Brother?

So bringing the show up to literally, BB21?
Has this been confirmed? Like have any of you heard anything about the length of the new contract? I just seen it using the hashtags on Twitter.

If it's true, then amazing - means I'll be able to audition and go on.

BAHAHAHA, I'd smile if it was confirmed, but the thought of 8 more years of Z-list and wannabe's might be a bit too much for me to handle, the format is basically dead to be fair, everything has been done, I guarantee we'll get the shock suits again for the next series, yes it'd be good for Big Brother to be guaranteed to be on our screens for a few more years.

It would be amazing news and also wouldn't surprise me, personally I would have only expected an announcement to cover 5 more years but I for one believe BB still has a good future.

Well I'd beam with happiness if this were true, but I couldn't see any broadcaster signing a contract as long as seven years for any show, unless it's perhaps a soap. It's just far too long, but I'd love it to be true...

Still Jack, having said that it is channel 5 and now they are likely adding another CBB series each year and also have the main one too, it is almost becoming a soap just with ever changing characters.

True

But the success of this show fluctuates year on year, I think it'd be too risky for a broadcaster to sign a contract that long.

It it's true, and the rumours of two CBBs a year are true, then it will take us up to BB20 but also up to CBB24 I never would have guessed we would have more CBBs than BBs

That's what I was thinking, maybe 5 Years is more realistic - that's what they did on C4, was either 2 Years of 5 Years with their contracts.

Channel 4 had a contract for BB1-BB2, And then BB3-BB6, followed by BB7-BB11 if i remember. Because BB11 was the end of their last contract which was signed in 2006.

They're gonna have to change up the show a bit soon and improve the format though otherwise no one will be watching by the end of BB20.

I haven't found anything official either, but the articles written over the past few days have been quite optimistic.

From Metro:
Currently the channel - who bought the format from Channel 4 after their final series in 2010 - has a deal in place with Endemol to keep the show, and its celebrity counterpart, on air until 2013.

However it has proven such a hit in its new small screen home that they are currently negotiating a new deal - which is said to include two celebrity versions of the show a year as well as the regular show in the summer.

Big Brother boss Gavin Henderson told the Daily Star the contract was 'being re-negotiated as we speak'.

He added: 'It's an open secret that Channel Five have been very pleased with its success as have we.

'When we moved from Channel 4 to Channel Five it enabled us to make changes that we couldn't in the past.

'We've been a lot more confident this time in how we drive the stories forward and make entertaining shows.'

LONG LIVE BIG BROTHER

Yep. That's how it went basically.
I remember reading in the paper around the time of BB7, that they signed a new contract and being like
