Also a Italian was killed

They were shot just before the UK Forces could get to them
Could have been a matter of Seconds, a expert has said.

The President of Nigeria
gave the UK Troops the go ahead

SkyNewsHD Live

Video plea: One of the hostages is
seen pleading for his life as his armed
captors stand behind him in a video released by the kidnappers

Italy is only pissed off because the mission was unsuccessful. Didn't see them doing anything constructive or proactive... now they're all hissy. Typical.

The UK does not have to clear stuff with Italy. It's unfortunate that people died, but at least the UK and Nigerian forces tried to do something. It would be more helpful is Italy got all shirty with Nigeria and asks them how this was allowed to happen.

Very True.

Is Sad and could have been seconds away
they have broken up the Terror Group up in the North area.

And at least they did not have time
to kill them and show it online.

They were told though,we just didn't have time to discuss it at length with them and according to some of the press, they have been dire in any overseas help till now.

I don't agree that it's fine just because the UK came up with a rescue plan first, for all we know they had information which wasn't available to the Italians. If the situation was reversed and the Italians carried out a resuce attempt without consulting us and it led to a Briton being killed, Hague would react in a similar way to the Italian government. I don't think the UK had any right to go over their head on this when it concerned Italy just as much as it did us.

To be fair i dont think words like 'hissy' and 'shirty' can be used in reaction to this, it is a serious issue and whatever happened im sure neither country was totally in the dark or unaware of the seriousness of the situation.
The UK does have to clear things with Italy, due to Italian civilians being involved.

It must feel awful being one of the troops sent on that mission.
