Default Two Brits arrested after causing 'bomb scare' on Tenerife flight

Two "drunken" British holidaymakers were arrested yesterday after causing a fake bomb scare on a Thomas Cook flight from Manchester to Tenerife.

Airam Paul Jerus and Nathan Levi Trippier told cabin crew they had an explosive device on board the plance, according to the Daily Mail.

The plane, which was carrying around 200 passengers, was given priority to land and evacuated before the air were arrested.

The Civil Guard, however, found no bombs on board. A spokesman told the Daily Mail: "Two young men told stewardesses they had a bomb in their hand luggage.

"At this point emergency procedures were started. When the plane landed officers boarded and the two men were arrested.

"They are still being questioned by police. We can't comment at the moment on whether they were drunk."

Meanwhile, a British Airways steward is facing a jail sentence after today admitting leaving a bomb hoax on a plane's toilet door mid-flight.

Mathew Davis, 22, allegedly penned: "The bomb on board will explode at 16.00 GMT unless our demands are met", on the plane's loo door at 35,000ft.

The flight from Tokyo to London was carrying 150 passengers, and landed safely at Heathrow following the incident, according to The Sun.

And today he pleaded guilty at Iselworth Crown Court to a single charge of communicating false information with intent.

He is due to be sentenced next month

I could not agree more .... an employee (and from one of the World's 'supposedly most reputable and leading airlines' being involved in such a thing is far worse.

I think the confusion lies in that the original post mentions the Daily Mail, but the original post is not from the Daily Mail (though it could be taken that it is because it's not clear from the original post, where the actual info is copy and pasted from ).... which subsequently wasn't a copy and paste job from the DM, but from AOL.

A link in the OP would be helpful to avoid the confusion.

Given that it is a serious news story...shouldn't this be in Serious Debates/ News Stories section rather than general chat?

lol British Banter. Good lads. They were obviously drunk though, so yeah - abit over the top landing the plane and all that.
Although names like Airam Paul Jerus and Nathan Levi Trippie don't exactly sound British to me..
