i did think twitter was a bit of an odd way to do it. maybe that's why they did it.

Nope. All they had to do is say 'Right. Becky's going in.'

Which is what they had planned all along. It was free and private, so regardless of who won - they were putting Becky in. This was just an attempt at making us feel included.
