Default How to get a cat to shut the **** up?

Any suggestions?

Getting her spayed in a week or so, which apparently should help...but pretty sure shes not even in heat at the moment (trust me...she makes it very obvious when she is) so I dont think this is the problem right now...

The past 2 nights I have had about an hours sleep overall. She is meowing every few seconds, literally. All day AND all night except for the rare 30 mins when she naps. Its really pissing me off and I have just thrown her out about 2 mins ago because I got the urge to throw something at her (dont judge me, Im sleep deprived and shes just trying to be annoying)

This has solved the problem temporarily...but she will be back later on and I dont know what to do. I simply cant go another night like that. I will go mental.

Normally I can function on very little sleep, but as most of you know, I am pregnant at the moment and its seriously draining me.

She isnt hungry. She isnt bored (as I was playing with her for about 3 hours yet she was STILL meowing constantly). She doesnt seem to be in any kind of pain. She just appears to be purposely annoying me.

If it doesnt stop, I'm going to have to get rid of her.

We leave the back door open so she can come and go as she pleases, which she usually does. But recently she doesnt go out. Unless we kick her out and shut the door, which I think will become a habit if this behaviour doesnt stop.

Maybe she's just a noisy cat then, that sounds very annoying though

Shes always been quite vocal. But this is a whole other level. We got used to the frequent meows(maybe every 10 mins or so around the clock), but at the moment I swear its literally 5 times a minute

hhmmm maybe she senses you're pregnant and that's effecting her? Animals can be funny like that

I hope to god thats not it. Because that means it will continue for the next 4 months...so we will definitely have to get rid

Today seems to be one of those days, just had a call off my mam, shes coming in an hour to go look for carpets (she wants to buy a new carpet for babys room) and now I cant find the damn cat to put her back in the house while we go out.

I have a cat and she is really vocal is as soon as I open the back door in the mornings, she sleeps outside either in her cat house or the shed as IF she is in all the time she would also drive me bonkers, she is also well fed,de-fleaed,and played with a lot,i have often wondered why she is so loud and vocal, the only time she really stays in is in really bad weather, cats meowing all the time is really annoying.

Shoot it.

Drown it.

Stab it.

Boil it in a stew.

Electrocute it.

Buy a lasor pen & play with your cat for an hour before you go to bed or ask the vet for help, they may suggest medication to calm your cat down.
Have also heard you can buy plug ins that calm cats down, im assuming at the vets or on line.

OK shes back now and being quiet and nice, I think she knows she pissed me off because its the first time ever I have locked her out. So she clearly was doing it just to wind me up, no actual problems or anything.

What a twat

If she starts again when I try to sleep shes sleeping outside

OK we think we have figured out what the problem is.

When we went on holiday, she stayed with gavs mam who has a cat, and they got on quite well. so sicne then when we have been going to gateshead for the weekend, the cat has been staying at gavs mams house to socialise a bit. I think shes lonely.

We cant get another cat, and gavs mam has always wanted another but didnt think any would get on with hers (who has been a housecat for 8 years and has never seen another animal until she saw our cat) so ours is going to live with her

Probably for the best, aren't cats meant to be a bit of a hazard to have around newborns anyway?
