A couple accused of having sex in a taxi in Dubai have been sentenced to two months in jail.

Rebecca Blake and Conor McRedmond, in their late 20s, found themselves in trouble while on holiday when they were caught in a compromising position after a night out.

According to The Guardian, their taxi driver testified that he saw McRedmond drinking in the back and Blake topless. He then called out to a police officer.

Blake was found sitting on McRedmond with no underwear, while McRedmond's trousers were around his knees.

The couple stated that nothing happened and that they were drunk, with DNA evidence seemingly supporting their claims as there was no indication that any sexual activity happened.

Blake and McRedmond intend to appeal the verdict.
