omg I watched a really good Anime about time travel and such called Steins;Gate and John Titor was one of the characters, they posted on message boards and all in it and you eventually find out who John Titor is and all, I honestly didn't know that he was an actual real life person. I thought they just invented him for the story.

Edit: Oh it mentions it on wikipedia.

He used to post on some forum called Time Travel Institute, which is full of people claiming to be from the future. It's quite sad really.
