Apparently the office of president comes with 2 yachts.

So I guess it's possible to be on it for some function or another, without the pres being there.

Edit: actually I'm wrong I don't think he gets 2 of them with the job I'll check more.

I've never heard of a Presidential yacht before. The only boat i've ever seen Presidents on are Air Craft Carriers.

It seems like they stopped using them in the 30s or something, and some of them have ended up scrapped and others have been bought by people http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Categor..._United_States

I think this one can be boarded and toured in San Francisco http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Potomac_%28AG-25%29

Ohh, it's in Oakland, not San Fran, that's where i live! I'll have to check it out sometime.

There's a presidential yacht in my city and i didn't even know it! learn something new everyday, thanks gypsy.
