I think Sophie made a good point tonight and I'm glad she told Dan what she thought.

What right does Dan have to tell the rest of the hm's not to mention anything about Daley? after all they have all been living with him in there for the past 4 weeks too... I know Dan said he was doing it for Hazels sake and I totally see where he was coming from but he took too much pleasure in giving the orders out and also seemed to enjoy being in control shouting don't tell Hazel about the tennis ball then rushing her into the bathroom so he could tell her first. |

I kind of like Sophie. She looks people in the eye and tells them straight.

My Aunt Esther likes to be the first one to call everyone with bad news and be at the centre of any ensuing drama. Dan reminds me of her. |

I understand both sides - I think Sophie wanted to fan the flames of Hazel's demise, and I think Dan wanted to appear like a martyr.

She was right... Dan and Hazel are the ones in the know...they know the details consequently everyone else feels like they are being guarded from the truth...like Sophie said 'like children'. I would find that annoying and condescending.

Sophie definitely had a point. I just wished she'd have ripped Dan to shreds over this, instead of being a bit too wishy washy when confronting him.

I think Dan and Hazel failed to take into account that everyone in the house has been affected by Daleys departure. Then for the balls to be left unexplained, Sophie was right to say something, she didnt do it clearly but at least she made The Group visible to the pair of them (Hazel and Dan). Good for her.

I didn't really agree with her but I could see where she was coming from with her comment. it was still nice to hear her true feelings about the situation, I wish we could see more of this from her

Think Dan was just really giving a bit of a heads up to be a bit cautious and treat the issue with care, I can see why it's quite frustrating from Sophie's point of view when they don't really know what's gone on but it's also understandable why Hazel wouldn't want to tell everyone everything and not want people speculating about it all

Yeah,I see where Sophie was coming from,I think Dan meant well but he was a bit patronising to the other HM's who are also Daley's friends and deserve to know why he got booted.

I felt in the circumstances, probably to no ones surprise, that I think Dan handled it well overall.

Yes he did get a bit over protective as to Hazel but she has totally confided in him on this and he was the only one to really know the events as to Hazel's problems with Daley on the night in question. In that panic of likely several people rushing in to possibly crowd and ask Hazel about it or press the issue, he did get a bit too zealous in his attempts to keep people away from her until he got her on her own and explained it all to her. Unlike some on here, Sophie herself, and full credit to her too, even said Dan did right to get Hazel away and talk to her on his own, she just took issue with the tone used by him to them in that moment of panic. The guy said to her he didn't mean it in a bad way and didn't want it to come over like that but that bit of the conversation gets overlooked as usual. No matter what people may think of Hazel, she will be naturally rather fragile as to the event still and his aim was to protect her. He was also instrumental in getting her to tell the others at least the outlines of what had happened so they could understand what the tennis ball message was likely about. Hazel, said she preferred for him to tell them which he did for her. It is usually very difficult to deal with awkward situations when someone can get even more hurt or concerned than they already are. People will make mistakes in handling such issues,Dan is a human being and so will not always get everything done the right way all the time,no one can but he did his best for Hazel and whatever the outcome he did manage to spare her being faced initially with just about everyone charging in likely ready to fire questions to her as to what it was all about. After making sure Hazel was okay and calm,he then got them told a few facts as to the issue. He maybe could have handled it more perfectly than he did but Hazel was protected and so for me the end justified the means. Also being the only person who she had confided in as to the incident, he was also in a quite difficult position,so had little time to likely more calmly see it through from the ball coming over and being read. To me there is not much wrong in giving orders if it is to protect someone from more hurt or anxiety.

Since Dan knew the whole story beforehand as Hazel had fully confided in him,he alone knew how distressing it would be for Hazel to have to suddenly deal with near everyone piling in and asking her what was the message about. In his determinations to spare her that, he got a bit over zealous but to conclude he meant it all in a bad or rotten way is to me rather questionable. |

I think Dan handled the situation perfectly. When the tennis ball was discovered he asked the others not to mention it to Hazel right away because he knew the story about her and Daley and the others did not.

If he had said nothing and the others had rushed in and told Hazel he would be accused of letting his friend down! Afterwards, Hazel ASKED him to speak for her, and as a friend he did his best under very difficult circumstances, and very well too. He impressed me, as he usually does. |

It was interesting that Sophie found the tennis balls, she is not a fan of Hazel (not sure what she thinks of Daley as we have never seen her speak about him as such), she was very keen to get the message out there, I feel Dan did handle it well to a degree but then he was coming from a position of knowledge, while the rest of the HMs were trying to digest this new information, whilst being told by BB go go inside (did that happen with Dexters ball I don't think it did so I am assuming BB announced it so everyone who was not in the garden would know something had gone o). Dan did remind me of a particularly gossipy neighbour who revelled in the fact that he knew something the rest didn't and I could understand Sophies frustration at being told what to do, they are all HMs and had a right to know what had gone on, and also they have a right to speak about it or indeed ask Hazel about it if they wish, it is up to Hazel what she wants to divulge.

Yes after telling everyone else first. Then only telling Dan (in a much lighter way) after he had asked her what was up.I doubt she would have said anything otherwise and she showed a great deal of selfishness.
