I'm no expert on homosexuality (in fact I am no expert on anything) but I was under the impression that he was gay but was acting like he isn't.

I always thought he was trying to be liked by everyone, saying what he thought would work, but I get all confused by who Dexter wants to be that I don't know either way.

If it emerged that Dexter was a gay/bi man (same thing as far as I'm concerned) then I would NOT be shocked.

Dexter is very camp (as all gay men seem to be, even the ones who bang on about being straight acting a la Gareth Thomas eventually struggle to keep up the act and relax into their true camp selves from what I see) and in touch with his feminine side (enjoying flamboyant swanky designer clothing, hanging out with girls, disliking blokey bloke stuff etc).

Something like 90% of male escort work is for male clients. Even a plain woman can walk into a pub and get a man to sh@g her. Not really much of a market for female clients, the whole myth that there's a new escort internet arena for wealthy independent female clients is stuff of tabloid editors imaginations.

Most of the escort guys who do sleep with women actually sleep with men too as that's where the repeat custom money is. Not that I should know this stuff.

I once read Gay Times and was surprised by the amount of sex lines, blatant escort services, 'hook up for sex' ads towards the back of the mag. Can't imagine the same in Cosmopolitan.

I think the OP was generally curious and to be fair it is really nobody's business, his sexual orientation.

I will say though that if he is gay and he is hiding it I think it's sad that still in society someone still feels like they have to hide that part of them from the greater public.

Sadly a lot of straight men do see being gay as the worst insult. That's so 'gay' is really common in lad culture.

It may surprise you to learn that many Gay men neither want to act "straight" or "camp", they just want to act what they are........male.
