What an awful and hateful man.
How Callum acted over the mouldy pot didn't deserve that response from Dan. So glad he went. I usually like characters staying in, but that absolute vile man going made me happy. And Callum stays in the house longer than him and it's deserved. Dan is an absolute prick of a man. |

I agree that Dan's rant was uncalled for, people keep seem to be doubting Callum for the silliest of reasons, but I don't see why. I think Dan has always felt Callum was a threat and used his niceness against him, and people have jumped on the bandwagon. He saw that he was nice, decent looking guy, friends with Sam which worried him because Sam may be liked by public because of sympathy and the fact he is nice too, so he tried to paint Callum in a different light.

Yeah, I think Dan was always highly influential in choosing the house target actually. I'm not saying he wasn't entertaining or funny at times either, but I just really didn't see reason for the rant. Personally I think Callum is misunderstood, he may be a little cringe at times and too deep but I see no harm in him.

Callum discussing Dan this morning said...
Callum gave the sort of passionate, positive and pained speech that you might give at someone's funeral. "I went on a real journey with Dan. We chatted one-one-one. I got him and he got me. Sometimes I'd look at him and he'd just smile at me. There was a real connection there." If only Cal knew his main connection was to Dan's spleen ![]() |

Prick. It's sad Callum isn't fully aware of Dan's disgusting comments about him. |

Dan would only have got more angry (over nothing at all), the longer he'd have stayed in. Dan's bad qualities outweighed the good in the end but to read the threads today, you'd have thought he'd been evicted on a miscount! He annoyed plenty of people who were willing to spend money on getting him out.

It's no secret that I wasn't a Captain Dan fan....but I saw nothing wrong with his assessment of the ever imploding Callum!

Some of the comments i'm reading on here make it seem like he was a saint. He was not a nice person, and his rant about Callum summed him up. Good riddance. Last edited by aman201; 27-07-2013 at 07:42 PM. |

His biggest fault for me was his habit of saying, 'I really like Callum, but ..... then cpmpletely trash his character. He would do the same thing about the twins. He was supposed to be so clever at knowing what was going to happen even Emma kept going on about it. He was not good at all what he was doing was betting both ways. He always said that something would happen but gave two options which meant he had two chances of being correct. The times he was wrong were passed over. His biggest mistake was that he did not realise his bitchy behaviour was unliked. He was the bitchiest housemate worse than Sophie. He deserved to be evicted. |

Dan was (is) a very sinister man and a vicious hateful one at that. Callum has a lot more dignity amd has outlasted Dan in the house - enough said.

Ultimately, however, it was the meanness that was his undoing. |

Which begs the question: why do so many people have so little sympathy or empathy for Callum, given he also is in there 24/7. 24/7 being the house whipping boy. 24/7 being whispered about and made to feel bad for every little thing: the tone of his voice, the way he washes up, the look on his face, etc etc. Worth remembering too that since everybody else is in there 24/7 it is very easy to get swept along by a powerful character like Dan into seeing everything Callum does as a problem. Very easy in that pressure cooker environment for minor irritation to spill over into outright disdain and dislike. Very difficult for anybody to claw it back from there. Anything Callum does now (and this has been the case for a few weeks) is viewed through the prism of irritation and mistrust. If he is nice, he's too nice. If he stands up for himself he's being fake...because it doesn't gel with the 'nicey nicey.' Dan is largely responsible for that atmosphere. He had the knives out for Callum over the nomination. He had the knives out for Wolfy because she wouldn't share her cigarettes with him (showing no understanding of just how horrible she would find it to be without, as an addict, whilst he was claiming not to really need them). Don't get me wrong, I liked Dan. But he has a bullying streak. And people listened to him and took that on board. because they were with him 24/7 |

I didn't find it disgusting, the terms I would use would be likely unnecessary and a bit over the top but also quite funny to watch too.
