Hopefully not. I switched off straight after the main series. A summer CBB is just pointless. I wish they could just keep it on once a year. Then the summer show can end on a high and not become overshadowed.

The new 5 year planning permission has upped the number of live crowd nights from 22 to 32 per year (midweek up from 5 to 14) so they have the capacity for more housemates and more evictions. So they could theoretically cram another series into the calendar or extend the existing shows.

Production of Big Brother will continue at Elstree Studios until 2018 in a new contract between Endemol and Elstree

Local authority Hertsmere Borough Council has approved plans for Endemol and Channel 5 to continue producing Big Brother and Celebrity Big Brother at Elstree Studios for a further five years.

A request for the number of Big Brother live shows, such as launches and evictions, to be permanently upped to 32 per year – including 14 to be filmed midweek – has also been approved. Previously, the number of live shows was set at 22 – but Endemol has regularly requested temporary increases to this limit since Channel 5 begun airing two Celebrity Big Brother series a year.

One councillor, Seamus Quilty, said: “When the show was first proposed in 2002 we received 176 letters of objections from people in the neighbouring streets concerned about noise.

“This time, we’ve had only one. This is a very big point in the show’s favour.”

Committee vice chairman Martin Worster added: “Big Brother is a big source of employment in Borehamwood and it is great those jobs will continue for at least the next five years.

“I’m very impressed by Big Brother’s committment to reducing the impact on members of the public through improving soundproofing and using pre-recorded pyrotechnics after shows to reduce disruption.”

Channel 5 are however yet to renew their contract to produce Big Brother and Celebrity Big Brother. The current contract ends after the fifteenth series of Big Brother and the fourteenth Celebrity Big Brother next summer.

Pretty much confirmed that there will be two CBBs next year - the summer series was added in the last renegotiation of the contract, which expires at the end of 2014. If they do decide to go back to one series a year I doubt it'll happen until 2015

Celebrity Big Brother 13 - coming January 2014 - and Big Brother 15 UK and CBB14 - coming summer 2014 - on Channel 5.
