Someone tell that dimwit, poppadom isn't an indian name, as such but rather the name of an Indian food. Indian names would be be, Sita, Geeta, Rani, Pooja. If she said any of those it would be apt, but she didn't. She used the term "poppadom" in a racially discriminative way.

I don't understand what point they are trying to make though. Will not convert me without some hard intelligent facts. My beef with Jade is not the racism etc (as with other people, and the bullying). I object to the whole lies that are orchestrated, and the turning point for me was her (private) trip to India. nodisharmony has never retorted on this point. It is a complete waste of time (well with me anyway).

Mmmm. Think that was a retort to my post Grit. Trying to pressurise them into revealing their identity. Why can't they just say whether they know her or not? If you asked me I would simply say no. If I did know her, then I would admit to it, and then, I would get serious questions, as people would be so inquisitive to know a lot of things. And then, maybe I could sway someones opinion. Jade did NOT make any racist comments!

The Big Brother show will NOT allow racism on the show. Anybody being racist will be thrown out.

The show has responsabilities to it's viewers. If something has offended many viewers, it is their job to sort this and this is what they do.

The Big Brother show was not getting the ratings that they were looking for.

What they tried to do is make certain changes. They split the house in two parts and brought in Jade and he family. Jermaine Jackson, Ken Russell and Shilpa Shetty became part of their family.

Sadly, as a result of this, the ratings still were quite low.

Suddenly, there was friction building between Shilpa Shetty and Jade Goody and Jo and Danielle. This was something worth pursuing. There was not too much else to talk about.

Still, the show was getting quite small ratings.

SUDDENLY, There was some words in sentances, referring to Shilpa Shetty which seemed to have "Racial overtones". It was'nt any of the three girls being racist people, it was just their naivety and stupidity which made them stumble into that area.

Suddenly, after these comments were aired, there was a global media frenzy! An argument between Jade & Shilpa, with Danielle & Jo laughing their heads off.

Beyond that point, the outrage had increased, so did the complaints and there was talk about ending the show. Things had got to almost breaking point.

Ratings were up by millions

Anyway, It was sorted and the Big Brother show, continued with it's transmission. The problem between Shilpa and the girls continued and more stuff got said and eventually there was a change of mood in the house.

The reason I have given this story to you, is:-

You are mentioning words and sentances which are apparently Racist!!

BUT, Big Brother do not allow racism. Any racist comments would be bird-whistled out and that housemate thrown out or seriously warned.

The show is NOT going to place themselves in this position, they are NOT stupid! They know exactly how to make and run this programme and also, what get's ratings.

People crave for Jade Goody as she has what viewers like. She makes drama and gives us all a bit of excitement.

No words in the show were racist. There were comments which may have had racial overtones, but, if they were seriously bad, the show would have been in trouble and this was NOT the case.

I know that you are attempting to state those words and make them into racism, but it has to be handled delicately and there are people who have more experience on definations of racism and what is and isn't acceptable.
