Default BBC editor taken off election coverage after branding UKIP racist and sexist

Jasmine Lawrence quits Twitter as BBC launches investigation into tweet posted the day before local and European elections

Typical Of BBC Workers

http://www.theguardian.com/media/201...e-ukip-twitter

[Jasmine Lawrence, a channel editor
at BBC News, has been removed
from playing any part in the
corporation's coverage of
the European and local council
elections after tweeting a derogatory comment about UKIP.
Lawrence, who has now shut her
Twitter account, posted a tweet on Wednesday
that said: "#WhyImVotingUkip – to stand up for white,
middle class, middle aged men w sexist/racist views,
totally under represented in politics today."
The tweet was posted the day before
the local and European elections,
which the BBC is covering for the
first time from studios at its Hertfordshire
home in Elstree, following moving
out of Television Centre in West London.]

silly moo looking to bandwagon and get likes. a sad attention *****.

I just cant abide people who attack something (mainly because they think there are lots of support for the view so its ok) by simply appearing to be as bad as that to which your ire is directed?

a bit like what i did in my opening sentence

She's one of the lead people behind the coverage I heard? She deserves whatever punishment she gets, even if UKIP are a bunch of douchecanoes

Is she the only person in the media to have expressed a personal political opinion?

The truth will be hidden from the general masses again as let's face it the media will never report some of UKIP's policies to the general public as they know that people wouldn't vote for them.

Oh and it always says this..
Quote:
News and Current Affairs Staff, Blogging and Microblogging

Impartiality is a particular concern for those working in News and Current Affairs. Nothing should appear on their personal blogs or microblogs which undermines the integrity or impartiality of the BBC. For example, News and Current Affairs staff should not:

advocate support for a particular political party;
express views for or against any policy which is a matter of current party political debate;
advocate any particular position on an issue of current public controversy or debate.

I agree Nathan. She's a news editor, she's supposed to be impartial. If she was unaware of that, she's in the wrong job.
