I did try a bit of wacky baccy back in the day,but only a couple of times as all it did was make me tired,so no never really bothered with anything like that,I would advise a family member not to go down that route, but they do what they want in the end anyway.I find I can have a good time without.

have you ever done it? - Yes.

how and when did you try them and who did you get them from? - When I was about 19 years old, through friends.

have you ever had a bad experience while taking drugs - I got spiked with MCAT one time. It was not good.

what would you say to a family member that wanted to try recreational drugs - Be safe, ideally just don't do it at all because the risks far outweigh the benefits and if you are going to do it then just make sure you're with people who will look after you and not just abandon you and leave you to your own devices while you're completely messed up.

can you not have a good time without the need for drugs. - Yes. It was the sort of thing that once I'd done it, I knew it wasn't something I wanted to do again, it's sad and scary and to see some of my friends still heavily into their pill taking/drug snorting/smoking just sort of saddens me really, they're all intelligent adults who are (depending on what they're doing, obviously) gambling with their lives unnecessarily every single time they take something.

have you ever done it? - Yes, not a lot though

how and when did you try them and who did you get them from? - On a night out to the sort of club some of my friends frequented where it's pretty prevalent

have you ever had a bad experience while taking drugs - Nah not really

what would you say to a family member that wanted to try recreational drugs - I wouldn't recommend it really, if you're safe and sensible with it then it's not always such a problem, the risk is just that once you start those considerations become less and less meaningful. It can very easily become a pretty disruptive habit without you really realising

can you have a good time without the need for drugs - Well yeah, I think pretty much everyone can. Think people can get a bit self righteous really when they say "I don't need drink/drugs to have a good time ", unless they have a serious addiction nobody needs them, they can just enhance an experience

I can honestly say I have never knowingly taken any substance whatsoever, I am who I am,if I am enjoying myself I am enjoying all around me, if I am not then I am obviously not so happy.

I don't want to take anything that is going to make me an artificial person in order to enjoy something or being somewhere.
I am useless even with prescribed medication, I even hate taking a pill for a very bad headache.
I have never smoked and drink alcohol only in moderation.
There was lots available while I was at Uni but for me myself, that all meant nothing.

Having said all that, I make no judgements on others and for some, drugs or other things like Alcohol, I know help give them confidence to deal with issues in their lives, and life generally, it also helps remove their inhibitions to really have a good time.
If they choose that, that is for them and I would never condemn them for it, it is all just definitely so far in my life, a no go area completely for me.
I also consider myself fortunate to be able able to avoid and resist it all, that is something which is generally not that simple in any way for many who need to and get involved in same.

have you ever done it? - Yes, I was heavily into the rave scene when I was younger...
how and when did you try them and who did you get them from? From whoever had them.

have you ever had a bad experience while taking drugs - not personally as such but we were coming out of a club one night and there was a boy on the floor who had had a bad pill. Everyone (including me) just stepped over him to get out and move on to wherever we were going. Now, I knew the vast majority of people in there fairly well but when I got outside I looked bak and realised that if that had been me on the floor, everyone would have stepped over me too. We heard the boy died the next day and it was a fairly huge reality check.

what would you say to a family member that wanted to try recreational drugs...if you're going to do it....share. Not really.....I honestly don't know. If it were my son, I would tell him definitely no....but I don't know if that's hypocritical as I don't regret what I've done as such but I wouldn't want him to risk it
can you not have a good time without the need for drugs. If you'd asked me when I was doing it I would have said no.....obviously I don't feel that way now

Have I ever done it? Yes

How and where did I get them from? Friends or a dealer

Bad experience? Yes, I was drinking all day then took two E's. I was fine for a while but towards the end of the night I literally couldn't stand. I was stood at the entrance of the club for about an hour and a half trying to get the feeling of being able to walk again and it just wasn't happening. A girl took pity on me and was talking to me for ages and when she tried to help me to the taxi I fell backwards are smashed my head open. So a night in A&E. My friend has vanished into the night at some point, it was one of those places where you lose each other for periods of the night. But he said he'd felt **** as well from it.

What would I say to a family member? Just be careful and make sure you're with a good group of friends.

Can you not have a good time without the need for drugs? You can have a very good time without the need for drugs

have you ever done it? yes.

how and when did you try them and who did you get them from? friends who got it from a dealer and when I was 17 mainly during the summer of 2012

have you ever had a bad experience while taking drugs? yes, one time I took what I thought was MCAT but it had all sorts in - ketamine, mdma, cocaine etc and I was puking for ages and seeing things, it was awful, in hindsight I'm glad that night happened because I was getting quite into them at the time and that put me off.

what would you say to a family member that wanted to try recreational drugs? Not to do it at all, they aren't worth it.

can you not have a good time without the need for drugs? yes completely.

what's your opinion on taking drugs to have good time. Probably the best reason there is to take them, right?

have you ever done it? Somewhat, yes.

how and when did you try them and who did you get them from? Weed regularly, other stuff every now and then. Since about 2006. Everyone has stuff, really.

have you ever had a bad experience while taking drugs Loads. Mainly from feeling jittery coming up on pills. The ride to the destination really doesn't suit me for some reason. I think I'm too skinny and high strung. I've gone certifiably insane tripping plenty of times. But it's never something I wasn't able to come back from and laugh off.

what would you say to a family member that wanted to try recreational drugs Enjoy the ride and shrug it off in your mid twenties?

can you not have a good time without the need for drugs. Of course. I tend to enjoy the dull consistency of sobriety more these days.

what's your opinion on taking drugs to have good time.

well i guess you mean drugs that are not ok (like alcohol) and yes you can have a great time to a degree

have you ever done it?

Yes, many times and many types but not for at least 12 years

how and when did you try them and who did you get them from?

same as anyone and its pretty easy

have you ever had a bad experience while taking drugs

yes several, continually waking up from one reality and then thinking i was back and then waking up from that etc was not nice. Plenty 2 day crashes from a weekend on E, some dodgy moments in London clubs, Ibiza etc Realizing that our group of friends were always doing coke on get togethers and that noone laughed like we did when drinking (that was the end of coke for me, too nasty)

what would you say to a family member that wanted to try recreational drugs
can you not have a good time without the need for drugs.

if you are do it small, do it safe and best of all dont bother as its not all that

Yep have tried drugs, nothing serious. I found out it wasn't for me. I figure since this is my life I'd rather go through it with my wits about me, being drunk or on drugs just seems like wasted time to me.

For other people, I don't mind what they get up to, once they're not hurting other people with their recreational drug use, then it doesn't bother me.

This is a monkey at some beach resort stealing a cocktail

anyway there are others who chose not to steal alcoholic drinks to get drunk. So maybe some people have a need for other substances to help them get through life, it's in their genetics.

I guess that's my opinion of them, it's not for me, but live and let live.

Yes I have done drugs in the past, weed mainly when I was 18 and some of the white stuff once a little recently. It just made my throat sore and had no effect on me so I've never done it since. I just wanted to try it.

If a family member wanted to do it I would tell them to be careful. Ideally I wouldn't want them doing it bit I can't tell then what to do.

yeah done all sorts but i prefer alcohol. i like to know what im doing. with drink you can be of your head but in good way. a lot of drugs i dont see the point. you cant enjoy anything if you dont know whats going on. and i like to have some control.

have a few joints mess about is fine long as you dont do it forever like some sados anything else dont bother is what i'd say. There's no fun in not knowing what your doing whats happening unless you want to kill yourself.

what's your opinion on taking drugs to have good time. -
I understand why people do it but i don't think you need drugs to have a good time by any means. (Coming from someone who smokes weed with friends and stuff)

have you ever done it? -
Hell yeah, like 2 weekends ago, i have/will only smoke weed though, no other drugs.

how and when did you try them and who did you get them from?
Where i'm from theres a stereotype of drug addicts and i can see where that stereotype comes from because i know looooads of people that do drugs in Hackney, they are easy to get your hands on if im honest. I got my weed from a trusted dealer of mine.

have you ever had a bad experience while taking drugs -
Yes i have. Smoked weed once and it made me extremely down and upset about a recent breakup. I did it to forget the situation i was in but it didn't work however by doing that i realised the only way you can sought problems like that is head on and completely sober.

what would you say to a family member that wanted to try recreational drugs -
Depending on the family member and their age ect. I would tell them it's ok unless it's really strong addictive drugs. As long as you don't abuse it, it's fine. Most things are ok in moderation.

can you not have a good time without the need for drugs. -
YES. YES. YES. YES. YES. I once went out on a night out with friends and everyone else did drugs and drank mad amounts of alcohol but i wanted to prove to myself that i could have a good night out without doing anything, not even having a single drink. I can say it was one of the best nights of my life. It was great having a clear head on a night out, which i would never thought i would say lol

I find going out without drinking incredibly easy. I'll happily admit to preferring drinking by myself watching a movie to doing it to wrap some bearable film around standing in a pub full of ******* because I'll always realize that's going on anyway.

Plus when I go out I always want to go for the score and a) when I'm drinking I only seem to focus on that and b) having sex with me when I'm drunk is ****ing awful.

The idea that most people have one night stands drunk is depressing. Sex is like ... terrible when you're drunk right? It's like none of it matters. The sensitivity of the whole experience is lost in a haze.

Everyone's experimented to one degree or another but if you need stuff like this to have a good time then there's something wrong.

Or you have crap friends.

I am very anti drugs, because i know first hand how devastating it can be. Once you get addicted things can spiral very quickly.
