This is true, well of BB15 anyway, they certainly shaped the series.

BB15 was just a joke. The cast is awful and largely grotesque (pick your favorite of Ash, Winston, Marlon, and Steven -- go ahead, I'll wait), production made plenty of dumb choices, there wasn't one around of normal nominations with no twists or anything, and the storylines were all pretty hard to stomach.

Easily the worst series after 12.

In all fairness, i do think that the series as a whole would have been dire without the big characters like Helen.. the twists were a bit much, but in general, i quite liked it, it had the drama and the comedy imo, it's not up there with the best, but it's not down there with the worst either.

The drama at the beginning was pretty compelling...the Helen/Pauline stuff then the Toya Week. After that I can't remember much drama

Not at all, I find that people default to saying that 4 is the worst because A) legend dictates so, and/or B) they haven't even seen 4 and are just going off of reputation. It's bad, but not legendarily so. The first month is completely watchable, and even after that there's usually something interesting going on. The double eviction should've killed the series, but the Africa swap was enough of a gimmick to make the next week tolerable and then Lisa entered and carried the next two weeks on her own.

It's only the final two weeks that are truly bad, but that's certainly not unique to 4. It also helps that 4 is much easier to watch, with 30 minute highlights for 64 days.
