they literally all sound like their fighting over each other's friendships in the playground, grow up and maybe think about the bigger picture.

I would trust the SNP over the Lib Dems anyday under Cleggs leadership, even under any of the other Lib Dem leading figures leading them after Clegg too.
The likes of David Laws and Norman Lamb for instance. I won't even mention Danny Alexander because he is possibly going to even just come 3rd in his seat in in Inverness come May 7th. Anyway who would really believe Clegg after 2010,he will do a deal with anyone if it got him another 5 years of shared power and a few Ministerial positions for some of his MPs. Policies will again be irrelevant as to that. Last edited by joeysteele; 25-04-2015 at 09:12 PM. |

Didnt someone from labour say they will not agree to a coalition? I think UKIP or Lib Dems are Labours only choice but i think UKIP may be picked because they have better plans

Ed Miliband could have made life a fair bit easier for himself had he promised one too but he feels it would shatter investment, and have a shadow hanging over businesses too,he has stuck rigidly to that so no way would he agree to one now for UKIP support. If he is the largest party he will, I think, go ahead as a minority govt; and dare the SNP to vote him down, which would then open the door to the Conservatives to try to form a govt: Were the SNP to do that,it would infuriate the SNP supporters in Scotland so I think the SNP block in Westminster would in all probability support that minority Labour govt: in the end, and get really nothing in return, except no return of a Conservative govt: |

Which is just WHY - in the face of all the evidence for controlling immigration and getting out of Europ - Farage is the only logical choice for MY vote.

Which would in turn cause more chaos and likely instability within the UK,that is even before addressing the problems of how, with who and where we trade. I believe the loss of investments to the UK would be massive and also have companies of foreign origin in the UK leaving the UK too. This is Milibands vision of leaving the EU,and for me he is right, that really would be like a massive lurch over a cliff, with in my view, no soft landing possible at all. Farage was convinced as early as last year that Miliband would also go down the referendun route byt he election,he hasn't,he hasn't budged an inch. So UKIP and labour together would be a non starter in any scenario I think too. |

UKIP + Tories is a likely pairing tbh. Weird how Cameron suddenly changed his mind about a referendum...
For the record I do want a referendum as I believe we should get a say...but Im not willing to damn the poor and disabled to another 4 years of tory 'cuts' to get one. |

Would'nt trust Clegg or Salmond or Sturgeon.I would take Labour over the Tories but not with the SNP in toe. They only have Scotlands interests in mind.

That is right.
When everyone has voted and the election done,it may well be that there is limited choice as to what govt; there is. The polls are saying things are close, they are predicting Labour and the Conservatives to have something like 280 seats each, with the SNP for instance possibly on 50. Therein lies a massive problem as then no combination of parties that doesn't include the SNP figures, can form a govt; anyway. The Labour party is not in existence to help Conservatives into govt; and likewise the Conservatives don't exist to assist Labour into govt; In that scenario above, painted by the polls at present, without the votes or some kind of support from the SNP, there couldn't be a govt; put in place at all. |

One scenario that hasn't been discussed yet is that no party can get enough support to push through a queens speech. It may be straight to another election vote .....can you imagine another 2 months of debate here? ![]() |

![]() The SNP will never support a Conservative Queens speech, they could get difficult with Labour too and refuse to back theirs, especially if Ed Miliband digs his heels in. Nicola Sturgeon is expecting him to 'want' to work with the SNP but he doesn't change his mind much really. As you say,in that scenario too, the only thing to do would be to have to hold another general election. Tempers on here would likely be strained well beyond the limit. ![]() Last edited by joeysteele; 26-04-2015 at 08:40 PM. |
