Default What makes BB-C5 so different to BB-C4?

Sorry for the horrendously negative thread.

I'd like to compile a list of the differences between the two styles of Big Brother, and how it's dramatically changed in my opinion.

- No Davina. Although I think that if she did return, she'd probably have quit by BB13. I can't imagine her enjoying hosting the show that it's turned out to become.

- Too much editing. With C4's Big Brother I felt like I was living with the housemates. There was more of a story - we saw them get up, have breakfast lunch and dinner. We got to see general conversation instead of only being able to watch the 'dramatic' moments and people kissing.

- The tasks are getting worse. It seems most break the rule of 'no contact with the outside world' and are usually only created to stir up trouble within the house. It was entertaining at first, but they've lost their originality. We need more endurance tasks like the box task and the waiting game. I feel that they were more fun to watch.

- Nominations should not be messed with in my opinion unless for little twists, and for the last three seasons there hasn't been a single 'normal' nominations week that I can remember.

I know that Big Brother has to move on, but if I wanted to watch Geordie Shore, I would go watch that.

It is tackier and more focus is placed on twists.

Format wise it's all trying very hard to be glitzy, sparkly, neon-y, twisty, shocking, twist, twist, sparkle etc.

it's ok to be negative if it's your opinion. I agree, the show has went down hill and the outside contact is annoying. I miss classic BB, when they were secluded from the world entirely and put through better tasks.

I agree. It's very glitzy. Big Brother is more of a luxurious holiday than a game, these days!

I posted there for a little while, but I think TiBB is a much friendlier environment.

I agree. I'm currently watching BB7 and I just can't pinpoint why Channel 5 wanted to run away from the old format!

I couldn't watch BB15. It was a mess! BB16 started off enjoyable, but the twists are too forced. If they wanted drama that bad, put in some unique personalties and they'll clash off their own backs instead of BB having to meddle.

No the Makers are the Same
Endemol.

Its on Ch5HD as Richard Desmond
who did own the Channel
is a Clever Business Man

The Utter Arrogance of Ch4
is not here.

Now we have Viacom- Endemol - Ch5HD - MTVHD
its now better than lil' ch4.

Its the people in it that
make it anyway.

C4 BB was Everything! C5 is just low budget, Cheap Tasks and always about the Arguments.

The cast. So many of them have had some sort of claim to fame, it was never a good idea to begin with but now it's just ****ing boring.

Agreed. We had "claim to fame" housemates in C4, but not to this capacity.

It is aimed at a younger audience than before, I guess because that is what gets the advertising revenue in.

Even the the music they use on it now, is usually recent chart music.

Tacky music montages, evictions are corny, tasks are basic, too much producer manipulation, twists are an overkill

The style of editing. Interior & exterior design. Tacky Now music. Horrible wag housemates. Rushed live atmosphere. The cameras are different from Channel 5, such low quality.

I agree with the tacky glitz, glam and sparkle feel the show has.

The majority of houses on C5BB have had some sort of tacky glitter or neon feel to it.

Especially the dreadful BB12 and BB13 houses.

The only C5 house that actually felt like a C4 house is the BB15 house.
It got rid of all this glitz and glam and made it sleek and modern, like how the C4 houses were.
