Which one do you think is the worst trait to have out of the two? They're both obviously annoying traits but at least with people that are deliberately being awkward is due to wanting to be individual, I can't get behind or understand anybody that doesn't have a mind of their own and I've known a few people in my personal life be like this as well and it's incredibly annoying.

I think there's a real difference Mock in someone being an 'Individual' and someone who is 'Deliberately Akward'.

I like to think that I'm an Individual, but I guess that we all have to 'follow the crowd' sometimes, then there are times when our independently made 'Individual' choices are the same as the 'Majority'.

Oh I agree with what you're saying on this Kirklancaster, I would never attack someone for having an opinion that fits in with the majority if they genuinely felt that way because that would make me be in the deliberately awkward category.

And I agree with what Kizzy said earlier, I hate fence sitters too.

alot of times people don't have a strong enough opinion either way on a subject or situation to want to bother getting off the fence

I wouldn't term that as proper fence sitting though, I would actually call that sensible behaviour.

What I call fence sitting is when it's like getting blood out of a stone just to get them to say what their favourite Food is as an example and they won't give out an answer.

I always try to go with my heart on everything ? if it does not feel right I won't do it - don't both me if the the rest of the world does it. example of this is like them crap shows "only way is Essex" or "towie" .

I only use 'sheep' as an insult. I believe the human race is made up of a huge amount of followers (sheep if you want to insult them) and a smaller proportion of leaders. Some of those followers aspire to be leaders and this is when we see verbal 'awkwardness'.

I'd say that fence sitters are comfortable followers, because when a battle breaks out between two potential leaders, the fence sitter prefers to look on with interest from a safe distance.

I agree with Niamh when she says 'sheepish' behaviour can be worse . There is a woman at my work who appears to be sweet and caring and somewhat insignificant; she quietly stirs up trouble amongst the ranks before sitting back and watching the battles commence. To me, that's the cowardly behaviour of a sheep.

I hate being a sheep but if I really believe in something than nothing will turn me from that course, at times that may make me seem deliberately awkward to the opposing view but there it is.

I think also alot of times people are accused of being sheep just because they agree with majority where as maybe the majority is the majority because it's what most people actually think is right

Well, I guess the only time I can think of really off the top of my head, where people are accused of being fence sitters is on Big brother and tbh most of the time I just think about that, maybe they just don't want to choose a side in your stupid arguments
