The woman who says she'll kill her child is clearly only saying that because she knows her gay child will have a better fashion sense than she does. Insufferable cow.

She's still trying to get me to take her to a gay bar (and I still continue to refuse! )
Chuckles at that!

Not that I'm one to be awkward but I don't even like the terminology of "support"... It suggests that there's a problem or something wrong.

I would simply think nothing of it. It would be a non-event. If one of my daughters bring home a girlfriend I'll think of it no differently to if they bring home a boyfriend. If they bring home a girl and then a few months later a boy, or vice versa, it's all pretty much irrelevant to me to be honest. As Ashley said above, so long as they're bringing home individuals who are good to them, and good for them, that's all that matters.

I expect they'll know this though. Probably unsurprisingly, we have a pretty much hyper-liberal set up and always will have. So long as my girls are safe and enjoying life, they can do whatever they want to do.

Not ALL Alex, but some are. But it IS getting better.

In the early 80's when I was in my 'prime', I worked as a 'bouncer' as did one of my mates at the time.

Me, my live-in girlfriend at the time and him and his wife used to go to Gay Clubs to enjoy our nights off - no trouble-causing dickheads, no over amorous drunken idiots hitting on our women trying to 'paw at them' in front of us - just pure hedonistic pleasure and good fun with gay friends.

In the early 80's we had all attended a CHE (Campaign for Homosexual Equality) meeting and joined the London (Gay) Pride March which had been re-routed to Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, that year in support of Huddersfield Gays AND a little but brilliant club in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire called the 'Gemini' which were BOTH being picked on by the local police who were opposing the renewal of the nighclub licence.

The cops were defeated and the club lived on, and we packed that club to the rafters celebrating.

Unfortunately, the media attention at the time alerted some local homophobic dickheads who - unbeknown to those of us still whooping it up inside - lay in wait outside the club in the wee small hours jeering and even beating up some of the patrons as they were leaving.

I was a night-raker then -- always the last to leave anywhere - and our 'mixed' little party of about eight were among the last to leave the club and as we made our way to our cars we were confronted by about ten of these idiots.

I will not go into details but suffice it to say we KICKED the CRAP out of them. Left them really badly beat up.

It was THE very first time I had ever seen a 'butch' lesbian friend of ours fight like a man. She was a revelation

I do not think things are as bad now with 'homophobic' cretins Alex.
