The reopened investigation concluded confidently that she had been executed by an experienced professional killer, based on the kill method and efficiency, and a few other things but the trail by that point would have been totally cold - if a professional would even have left one to begin with... So her murder is basically unsolved.

Its pretty clear though that someone with connections and influence wanted her gone for something she knew, and based on what she was working on its very likely that was someone involved with the BBC. I think it's likely that she knew about a lot of the Saville et al. stuff, years before it all started coming out anyway, but who knows what else she knew. No one ever will, I guess . Someone made sure of that.

What has Cliff Richard to do with the BBC? I don't believe that lack of adequate investigation in this area is confined to the 70's either.

The more people who come forward over time I would have thought makes it easier to gauge guilt not less, as every case has to be assessed on it's own merit. It can't be assured that Cliffs file will remain closed, should someone else come forward it will be reopened.

The file is closed, they are not even looking for any evidence now, the evidence they claimed to have, did not stand up.

He has nothing at all to answer to and no prospect of ever having to do so either.

old rich men like him are easy targets for these chancers...legitimate victims should get justice and be taken care of, nut these liars, often trying to blackmail and extort money from vulverable old rich men should also get justice , years in prison. false accusation and slander is still a serious crime in this country and should be treated as such. lets all put ourselves in the shoes of cliff richards and other falsely accused...70 odd years old a bit frail not in the best of health worked hard his whole life to life a fantastic life , basically ehs a national treasure....then right at the end a bunch of totally anonymous liars destroy his reputation his life his health everything...it probably destrots his friendships too.....its all lies and what does he get at the end if he is lucky enough to live through such a nightmare. oh sorry cliff from a couple of cops. this is AN FARKING DISGRACE AND IM FURIOUS ON HIS BEHALF AND ALL THHOSE OTHERS FALSELY ACCUSED

I understand,Cliff for instance has gone to the USA for tennis tournaments for decades, once this came out, he was told he could not go last year.

All I said that It's tricky to gauge guilt simply by how long the case lasted because we don't know the facts of the investigation. I don't know why you're taking exception to that and stating the obvious.

Yewtree wasn't confined to the BBC or the 70's either, I'm not taking exception to anything I agree we don't know all the facts, a closed file is not a guarantee of innocence.

Yeah, let's go down the route of having it be possible to charge or sue anyone who makes an assault claim against someone when it isn't upheld.

If it can be proven that they were lying, sure, but being unable to find enough evidence to convict someone of what an accuser is claiming is not the same as proving that the accuser's claims are false.
