Let's be honest. None of it has been Big Brother since it went to Channel 5. It is for them something to milk for everything it's worth. They show no care towards it at all.

They've been told every year what is wrong with the show. You cannot get to know the HMs without extra coverage, be it more video updates on the website or the 24/7 live feed. If you're not getting to know them, you don't care. If you don't care, you don't watch.

They probably think the reason Love Island is doing well is because of the whole showmance/exes coming in stuff... when in reality its doing well because that's the premise of Love Island and they do it much better... whereas lord knows what BBUk is meant to be about these days -_-
