I haven't seen Tocantins since it aired but if I had to pick a favorite I think it'd be Debbie???

Not the straight white male privilege card again. But nah, that's a decent description for like a Colby. Incredibly bland with no personality, seems to take himself and everything too seriously, etc. The white privilege card can definitely be played there. J.T. actually had a personality, was funny from time to time and was a quality game player.

Tbf I'm pretty sure J.T. is in HvV (don't confirm, I want some unpredictability about the S20 cast), but the first thing I thought was why would you need Colby and J.T. lol

I think JT definitely played his cards well in Tocantins but he absolutely had more to work with by being the Southern country boy that people implicitly wanted to trust. Like MB said, Brendan went on a Reward with JT and promptly decided to throw his game away for him since he was already rich and didn't need the money. Coach decided immediately that JT was A Good Person and henceforth interprets JT's actions to further his narrative as a form of confirmation bias (a tactic which Coach proves to do every season he's on, but that's neither here nor there), and his whole mindset of Taking Warriors To The End is literally about taking strong men to the end. Again, JT definitely worked these things well to his advantage but he had plenty of opportunities that not everyone had just on the virtue of being a decently attractive straight white man that people would want to be led by. That's not an angle that people like Shirin or Cydney can work, or one that they even have the opportunity to.

I am sooo confused about what's going on with the game in the first episode of the post-merge... Why have Taj and Stephen suddenly jumped ship on Sierra and Brandon? Is it because Coach allied himself with JT opening up an opportunity for the outnumbered Jalapaos?

Just seen Brendan's boot episode. This season actually sucks quite profoundly... It just feels like nothing big has happened, and the characters are weak af compared to the last three seasons

I think I somewhat liked the season. The cast is very average overall but Coach/Tyson/Debbie were fine "villains" for me to root against and I did reeeally like a few people (particularly JT & Sierra).

Okay I'm an idiot - I should have stayed away from previous forum posts but after a browse in LukeB's first watch thread I thought I knew the entire cast bar one so I caved in and went ahead and looked at the full cast.

I actually thought Natalie Bolton was in HvV, but it turns out she's not and Sugar is. The only other surprise was Randy.

I am disappointed that I won't have the surprise element! Iirc I didn't know that Richard, Rudy, Jenna L, Tina, Amber, Rob C, Jenna M and Rupert were returning for All-Stars.

To have three returnees from Tocantins kinda sucks.
