"OAPs" I don't know about but I do wish they still cast "adult" housemates. There used to regularly be housmates in the 30 - 50 age range... these days, it's pretty much Club 18-30.

My main problem with the older housemates these days is that while some of them are entertaining, nobody can say anything to or about them without being accused of being bullies or ageist, it does my nut in.
