Aside from a couple of lines, he's like a Little Britain sketch stumbled onto Doctor Who set for Comic Relief.

At least with Catherine Tate, she moved from her sketch show and portrayed an actual character in Doctor Who.

I'm Nardole neutral. I mean, he's not had any major role to play, but at the same time I'm OK with him being along for the ride, he doesn't grate on me or anything. Like Mickey says; "he's the metal dog".

Then again, they even gave Mickey a purpose in the end .
