It is black and white though if you believe that abortion is actually murdering a baby why would you not want to condemn people for it?

Yes I got that I just can't understand how you rationalise that in your head though if you genuinely believe abortion is murder of a baby. How could murdering a baby ever be ok?

I don't see it as murder, that just sounds vicious and something one wants to do, I see it as not giving a new life a chance to develop.

Ok well that's different but couldn't you say that about using contraception too then in that case? Or the morning after Pill? Isn't that stopping new life developing too?

I can understand that view from a personal angle but not if you want to force that onto other people and their bodies (not that I'm saying this is what you want to do )

No, I wouldn't say that about contraception because life doesn't exist in the first place unless you see sperm and eggs as life which they are not until they come together and fertilisation occurs.

The morning after pill? There is no way of knowing if fertilisation has taken place so it is a moot point really.

Because if I can't say for sure a life is there, I can't say for sure that someone stopped that life from developing.
I think the morning after pill should only be used in exceptional circumstances however and not be freely available.

To be fair I have to go with logic and say, there is really no justification for the logic that abortion ISN'T deliberately ending a human life. I think calling it "murder" is extreme and deliberately emotive, however, it certainly is "killing", if you want to get down to technicalities. A fetus is alive before abortion. There's really no argument that it isn't alive. I suspect people like to pretend that it isn't "actually alive" to make such things more palatable.

So I guess, maybe controversially, I am aware of and accept the fact that abortion is deliberately ending a human life, and yet, I still find it to be morally justifiable. A fetus is alive but it certainly isn't yet sentient.

Well yes of course technically speaking it's "alive" but it isn't conscious or capable of survival or development unless the mother carries it and nurtures it with her body. Actually, oddly enough on a personal level I don't think I'd have an abortion ever myself but I do think it's a very, very personal choice and choice here for me is the operative word. I just can't fathom how people think they have the right to try and force a woman to do something she doesn't want with her own body
