Default Brittany Murphy died 'trying to cure a common cold'

Actress Brittany Murphy's died of an overdose trying to treat a common cold, her postmortem report said.

Blood tests showed evidence of "multiple medications" - but no illegal drugs. Traces of painkiller Vicodin were found along with a substance used in inhalers.

The LA county coroner report said: "These medications suggest treatment of symptoms of a cold."

The 8 Mile star was aged 32 and suffering from pneumonia when she collapsed and died in her bathroom at her Hollywood Hills home on December 20.

La police discovered 24 empty pill bottles.

An inquest held earlier this month found Murphy had overdosed, ruling the cause of death as "accidental".

Also, it was found that in the 11 days leading up to her death she had took 109 pills.
Such a shame, such a talent. R.I.P.
