Default Do mods lock threads too hastily?

I've noticed that the razzie thread has been locked (For which I'll probably get blamed) but it was barely a few off-hand comments about anything and it was straight locked. I've noticed it sort of creeping in over the months, things get locked and deleted pretty quickly and nothing gets resolved.

As I've only been here since 09 I can only say what it was like when I joined, but I'm pretty sure arguments went of for a while, left unattended, and then pretty much fizzled out. Now with all this closing of thread so quickly it has caused rivalries to come about where point scoring becomes the norm in each thread (I'm probs a little guilty of this too) But just seemed better when we could settle stuff in one thread instead of spreading it all over the forum. Maybe I'm wrong, but just seems that way...
