I think this is worth considering.
For a series based on scandal, the choice of Roxanne was always a very odd one. It didn't make any sense. A car crash is not a scandal. And it's not as though Roxy is a big enough signing to be exempt from the theme. She hasn't had any relevancy for almost a decade, after all. She was also paid a suspiciously large fee (whether it be 75k, 175k or 750k ( ![]() This is why I think producers knew exactly what they were doing when they put her in the house. As has since become clear, virtually everybody who has worked with Roxanne has something bad to say about her. Endless amount of actors from both Emmerdale and Coronation Street have spoken out against her, indicating that there was already knowledge about her ways. Beyond soap actors, many other celebrities have commented on her behaviour in a way that suggests prior evidence. For so many people to shame her, it's pretty obvious that she has made a name for herself before the Ryan incident. Now, I find it very hard to believe that CBB producers had never came across any of these stories. They have worked closely with those of mutual relation to Roxanne, and they populate the same media circuit home to all D-List celebrities. When you couple this with the fact that they placed her in a series with Ryan (who is known to have been targeted by her before) - I think it becomes very clear that producers had hoped for some altercation between the two. Beyond just a standard argument, I believe the producers knew that Roxanne was mentally unstable and had a history of targeting men. Clever signing? Or an exploitative one? I'm not sure myself. The whole story has made for gripping TV... but you can't help but question that producers placed Roxy in an environment that they knew she wasn't fit for.
