Prince Philip has been admitted to hospital, Buckingham Palace has said.
The palace said Philip, 99, went into hospital on the advice of his doctor on Tuesday evening. The palace explained in a note: "The Duke’s admission is a precautionary measure, on the advice of His Royal Highness’s Doctor, after feeling unwell. "The Duke is expected to remain in hospital for a few days of observation and rest." Philip is in the King Edward VII Hospital in London and is said to be in "good spirits". Prince Philip has been living in Windsor Castle for several months, following a brief stay in his usual home at Wood Farm in Sandringham last summer.
