...about half way through the 3rd episode me and my wife said, "...are we watching a kids show?"
And I still can't figure it out, I think maybe yes but also it has people getting their heads smashed in (off camera) and also burned alive (again off camera)

. And the overall plot is essentially about hunting and harvesting children.
And yet.
It's so gentle & peaceful & sweet & feel-good

. We really enjoyed it, neither of us have been very well this week and it made for really cosy viewing while the kids were at school

.
The cinematography & palette is gorgeous also, which helps. Just some really nice, simple viewing. That only occasionally feels like watching an oddly violent Cbeebies series. About a plague.
It's also sitting at 8.2 on IMDB which is actually quite high for a TV show, I was surprised to be honest, but I guess other people felt the same way as us? Refreshingly NON-gritty.
